That it's taken me this long to get over my Spam snobbery- it's actually pretty darn tasty fried up so it goes crisp on the outside. Good enough for me when the "supermarket" runs out of fresh food.

    No. No, no no.
Every ten years or so I give it another go against my better judgement. Salty, chemical mash. Like US processed cheddar. Edible only if you're stuck on a desert island with loads of water to hydrate with after.
Surely the local oily stuff is better. Surely.
Quite like the pickled tea leaves from Burma as a snack.

It's Aldi not Asda! Someone's gotta keep Punty's pitches under supervision and collect the 99% Big Issue rent pitch tax.

He's got all the Aldi sellers in his pocket around Liverpool, how do you reckon he funds his jet set lifestyle in Thailand.

Punty - last months installment is going in my pocket as i need another 3 week holiday, specifically to sink that Unicorn inflatable and shit on Dillingers pool table and piss in his pool.

Your Siberian Huskie will have to rough it and live on Mama noodles for the next month.

Add a few Bob Marley posters, paintings, and paraphernalia and that place would look exactly like one of the spliff bars near where I live. 100 baht for a decent spliff.

WTF ? I thought that was still a big no-no in Thailand, except under the counter. Does it masquerade as a drinkies-type bar ?

It's a drinkies bar, for sure, but you can order a spliff when you order a drink and smoke it at your table. They do ask you to take it out back if the room is crowded, but as the night wears on, nobody seems to care anymore so it's out in the open again.
3 bars I know of here, and all within 5 minutes drive.

At the Krabi Reggae Bars the tables were on the footpath and every fuker was just walking past as ya do.

The waiters were serving pre rolled spliffs at the outside tables no problem.

I had never seen that before so blatenly out there. ????

    Wow.

Anyway, since this is the Daily Moan thread, I'd like to complain about Thai dope : it stuffs me up too much. Lays me out, semi-comatose.

I think it's because it's probably Cannabis Indica, whereas in Australia I was used to Cannabis Sativa, which gives a more creative, mellow, yet mentally-stimulating high.

I hardly ever get stoned these days....gettin too old and it takes me days to recover energy. But there was one time about 6 years ago when I got wound up on some excellent Sativa for a few days and had an ongoing debate with ENT. It was most amusing.

Yeah it's good shit. I have no idea about whether it's sativa or indica, like Terry, it's simply "good mull" to me. You possibly had some horse tranqued stuff?

An ongoing debate with ENT could also be something alone to turn your mind inside out.

^ Indeed ! We had one which went on for about 5 years ! I've had Thai mull many times, starting in 1987, Khao San Road, but usually abandon it in a guesthouse somewhere.

Listen up, Switch Samui ! I've smoked dope more times than you've had hot breakfasts..

Settle down a bit and go root your scrawny girlfriend again.

Only in Thailand. Had to squeeze by three men squatting in the aisle at Makro, playing poker on their mobile phones. Had their money all over the floor. WTF?

If their mobile gadgets were not already a distraction, the obsession with gambling certainly will be.

    Oblivious to their surroundings.

    They were oblivious.

People go to Makro and meet for gambling now? Why there?

I looked around to see to see if we were on some hidden video setup. It was surreal.

It’s obvious you are so proud of that statement. I don’t need to add to your tales of lifestyle debauchery.
