    Thai food stalls

First up we have the old squid stall, I say old squid as it stinks to high heaven and not to be eaten in your own home, believe it or not it actually tastes quite nice, it normally comes with a brown spicey sauce which is made up of god knows what, the suid is bbqued then stuck through a mangler like your granparents had on their washing machine, not sure if I got the mangler in the pic as I was pretty pissed by this time.

    The Thai sausage man....

These I have eaten loads of times, every time in the drunken belief that they may taste like sausages from back home, believe me they don't, they actually taste of what I would imagine off meat to taste like when it has gone off, they are awful and I wouldn't recommend eating them, to look at them though they look delicious.

I mean do you really believe he will sell those all in one night? and if he doesn't do you think he will throw them away or try to sell them the next night or the next night?

yes I've eaten those sausages - not pleasant.

The squid's ok when you're pissed - very strong flavour.

Had a few too many beers one night followed by a couple of those squid - threw it all up in my bathroom where it stayed for the night , no fun cleaning it up the next day.

that was about 6 wks ago now and I still get the odd waft from the drains reminding me of that evening - even after 3 bottles of bleach!

Ah!!! fermented pork grilled 'n served fresh on a stick, a handful of fresh chillies & some slices of ginger absolute heaven. Even better when served raw with chillies, peanuts, green onions and lime...
Best beer food in the world.
How can anyone eat those stankin' old, dried up squid? Smell 'em a mile away.

    The Chicken Vendor;
Now she plys her trade on the road from Pattaya to Jomtien, even has a sign up with the price of 100baht for a chicken, yep this one has learnt that farangs like to see prices on things due to their being stitched up so often, would you bother bbqing a chicken yourself when you get the whole thing from her for 100baht?

She sells 40 chickens perday from her road side stall so by Thai standards she is raking in the dosh.
So chose your chicken and watch as she chops it up into little bits, I might add she wont discount if you let her keep the head and feet, The only bit I don't like is sometimes the bones splinter so you have to be a bit careful of that, not sure what the green leaves are for, she obviously has'nt heard of paxo.

Anyway for the health concious amongst us here is the 10baht fruit stall, I personally don't eat from these as I have seen the sort of places these fruit sellers live in, ie squat toilets and no bum sprays, so that therefor means, well I shall leave that to your imagination but lets just say for sanitary reasons

Of course a party would not be a real party without some animals being slaughtered for our enjoyment, yep this pig was slaughtered for a hair saloons owners birthday party, I got to admit to being partial to a bit of pig and the old spit or is it split roasting

My personal favourite is of course the bbq stall, 5 to 10baht for a stick of meat, this picture here we can see the traditional way of giving the meat more flavouring, by placing an old 2stroke motorbike exhaust next to the stall and giving it a few revs, yep thats the traditional method for flavouring tough old meat that was bought a week ago from the market

They're called 'Nam' sort of fermented pork as previously mentioned by Frankie.
Not bad if they are cooked long enough.
