    Fusion Dog

Our last adult dog has been up for the slaughter, the big black one called "Foodland". The usual deal, 300bt for the Missus' household kitty, and some of the meat for me.

Got rather a large portion from the neighbour this time.

An easy and satisfying way to prepare dog meat, is to slice it into finger-thick slabs, sundry for an afternoon and grill it on the charcoal BBQ. It has a strong flavour and doesn't need any condiments, just some salt and pepper.

Anyway, I thought I'd try something else, inspired by different regional cuisines across the world:

I took a few chunky cuts, about half of the content of the plastic bag, and fried it for a few minutes with the aubergines and onion:

Then, into the ricecooker with the sliced plantains and tamarind.

regardless of upbringing, cultural influences or law... there are some things that you know are just plain wrong.

Do what you bloody like, but eating dog is borderline sociopathic.

So, it's ok to eat dog in Vietnam, but not in Thailand.

I couldn't eat one of my dogs, as I am civilised, but not everyone is Noony.

I didn't say that it was ok anywhere.

i have always looked on people that abuse household pets as absolute kunts worthy of a good slapping.
What worse way to abuse a loving, trusting animal than to fukking eat it.

Should be well and truly ashamed.

    No shame here.
The dogs have a good life with us and are well fed and loved. There are limits, of course, like the previous one attacked people a few times, preferably children on bikes outside the gate, where she shouldn't have strolled anyway. This one ganged up with the little new arrival to kill our baby chickens and doing the same to the neighbour's - if they develop to be a nuisance they'll have to 'go', I'm afraid.

Don't you think there is something ever so slightly weird about being able to eat your dog Stroller.

i have kept dogs all my life and have been that distraught at their deaths (for whatever reason) that i can barely bring myself to eat anything at all, let alone deciding the best way to cook them, making sure of course that you get some nice pictures for an internet forum.

    very fukking weird indeed.

Ok, well, I don't want to cause offense, but in my defense I'd say we've had comments and pics about eating dog meat before.

Mods do whatever with this thread.

Its ok to ask people for help if you've been reduced to eating your own pets.
I guess a few people will judge but I think you can say you are above that right?

Of course others' opinions bother me, but I am not one who has regulated his life or comments based on what others regard as "normal".

I agree - that is truely abuse of pets. That dog meat should have been marinated overnight first, and the onions should have been finely chopped and fried until they turned slightly brown before adding the meat.

Absolutely unbelivable what people can get themselves to do......

I admit the Welsh git managed to put me off my dinner last night, I thought it tasted somewhat 'funny'.

Having a second platefull now, it turned out rather nice, but I prefer the BBQ.
