I should really post this on Thai visa as they are much "cleverer people" than on this site..but hey...I am banned from there for another 30 years or so.

Question is, I have an extension as I am married to an idiot, being married to an idiot normally requires me to show 400K of toilet money in a toilet bank every year to give me the privelige of remaining in a 3rd world country.

Normally, for the past 5 years or so, the autocrats at the immigration like to see 400K of toilet paper in the bank IN A JOINT ACCOUNT at the time of re application to waste my life.

Last year, when I applied, I was warned by the ever so humble "CIVIL" "SERVANTS!!!" that next year - which is approaching rapidly (doesnt time fly) that I need 400K of dirty little rags in a bank account IN MY NAME ONLY, and 2 MONTHS BEFORE!!!!!

The questions start here.

1: Anyone heard of this before? Single Name Account?

2: 2 Months before? does this mean that, (as I can apply for the extension one month before) it is due, do I need 400K at the time of application, as well as 400K 2 months before and 400K at the time the extension is due?

Here is the situation, the extension runs out in march, I can apply in February. Do I need 400K in December, January or February or March? I really dont want to transfer lots of unnecesary "real" money" here to have it converted to toilet paper without good reason.......so if anyone can shed some light it will be appreciated.

If I can apply at the office of GODS in February, being able to prove I "had" 400K in december, is that enough or do they want to see 400K all the time? It is a bit confusing for a stupid person...especially when the people writing the rules are even stupider!

I normally get a 1 year non imm B, but I want to change the renewal date as it's a bit inconvenient as it is, so thought I'd do a 60 day tourist visa for my next visit, from Hull consulate.

I'm sure there's a sticky on it, but i'm a lazy git and I know how much you guys like to help, so...

Can I get an extension on it? Will I have to do a border run after 60 days?
Will I only have 15 days on re-entering Thailand?

Thanks

Hello
This is proberly a stupid question but i am heading back to Blighty soon and when i am there shall get my new yearly Non Immigrant O visa, I got my last one with the help of Sunbelt Laywers in Bangkok who for a fee give me a load of paperwork and i send that with the rest of the stuff to Hull Embassy who then give me my visa. All very easy but I have heard since from various people i don't need the help of Sunbelt or the like and can get it just as easy going through the process direct with Hull Embassy my self..Is this true as i hate Lawyers and son't want to give them any money if i don't have too..

Many thanks

If possible, I would like to know how to get a visa since I recently bought a 90 day round trip ticket- US to Bangkok? Can anyone direct me to a related thread? I haven't seen any posts that seem to relate to my situation. I plan to go there for a holiday departing on Dec. 31.

Hi All

I currently have a Multiple entry 1 year Non-immigration Education (ED) visa obtained at the Hull Consulate in the UK. I am a UK citizen.

I am wanting to work in Thailand and so obviously need a work permit which hopefully the company i want to work for will help me to obtain as my friend is one of the owners.

Here's my question...

My visa expires on 22nd Dec 2009 which is obviously quite soon.
I believe i can get a 90 day extension on this as long as exit and return to Thailand before the expiry date. I have checked this twice with Immigration at Bangkok airport during this year and they agreed.

Do i need to do anything special to get this extension or is it automatic when i enter Thailand?

Can i still apply for a work permit whilst i am in Thailand during the extension period or is the fact that my Non-immigrant visa has expired based on the date within my passport a problem?

Any advice appreciated
