Well if you want the real thing you are looking at bringing a crew from the north of Thailand. Sounds like a good idea, but if you want the real thing its not going to be cheap. Best of luck.

what do you mean by "Lanna" architect"?

do you want some pastiche of ancient temple buildings?

You could just take some photos of typical buildings and features you like and try a local architect

I assume he wants an architect with experience designing this type of structure.

there is no real "Lanna" architecture, except something that has been dreamed up by recent designers

the buildings designed in this so-called Lanna style are much the same as any other buildings, bar the exterior decorations and the roofs

if you look at any Lanna-style buildings in Chiang Mai, for instance, they are a mish-mash of different concepts and ideas, so he might as well employ a local with diagrams and pics

I have three small wooden houses I use for guests that were built Lanna style, essentially copied from temple architecture. Maybe that type of building is what he means?
    I have reported your post

yes, it is a concept but hardly a true one

however, any architect could reproduce wooden houses in that style, they are essentially simple

mine were originally copied from that sort of design by the builder, although you could put the cross beams at the top of the roof to make it more "Lanna"

the shutters and doors are "temple" style, slightly tapering to the top

    Thanks everyone for the responses.
Well with Lanna i mean the North Style (Chiang Mai), i visited a lot Chiang Mai and really love the view of some bungalows in resorts.
I want to use that style for my small resort in Khao Lak.

As i Have a lot of experience in managing hotels, but none in building one . I found my biggest problem in building my resort.

Thats why i need an architect that has already experience that can help me through this process.

well, as I said, all you need are a few pics and an architect/designer, no need to import a northern guy

you are looking to create a pastiche of that style, so all you have to do is build the buildings with some Lanna style decorations

nice wooden chalets on stilts plus a few bits of carved wood should do the trick

I know an architect from Bkk who has done resorts, some in a modern Lanna style. PM me if you want details. He can provide you with pics - I have a couple on my house thread regarding roofs (just about to put on).
