Carpet in Thailand

I am opening a music school and its going to take a lot of wall-to-wall carpet. Anyone have any suggestions?

60 x 60 Carpet tiles are in more general use than broadloom for commercial use. Modernform has a nice selection of Interface carpets.

They do indeed. If the music school is not in a air conditioned room with relatively low humidity, choosing an outdoor carpeting would be the way I would go.

Agreed, indoor / outdoor carpet tiles, keep afew spares, if you happen to damage a section, it's an easy swap to be new again, excellent stuff.

You can get what is known in UK as JumboCord for about 100-120/metre (roll is 1.5 meter wide) Many shops on Rama 4 (GO TO EVERY ONE AND ASK FOR THEIR BEST PRICE PER METER BEFORE YOU BUY!) They all sell the same stuff, but some will quote you silly money.
This being said, I personally would never carpet a school floor. kids are very mucky, it's difficult to clean and therefore looks shit after a while. Why don't you tile the floor instead?

Interface runs about 700-1000 baht per sq. meter. depending upon style. Figure 100 baht per square meter for installation unless you do it yourself of course.

yeah this is going to be an upscale music school. Shoes off before entering and tile makes a lot of BAD echo....

Good call on Rama 4. I have never been there but assume if I go there I will find what you re mentioning?

In the US we can get big rolls of carpet about 2.5 meters wide.

Wow at 1,000 baht per m2 thats nearly 200,000 just to carpet ONE FLOOR! There has to be cheaper options.

you can get 1meter at 120.
so 1 meter is 1meter x 1.5 meter

So 1.5 m 2 = 120bt

So you will be paying 80bt per m2 (for your calculations. Standard colours are green/red/light grey/

The light grey/blue one is very passable

The stretch of Rama 4 you are looking from is inbetween where it crosses with Asoke, and the top of Sukhumvit Soi 26 (Where it meets Rama 4)

They also sell the double sided tape to lay it with quite cheaply.
