    Tired of Building in Bangkok

I have been in the construction business in Thailand for several years now. Mostly house, condo, shop renovations. I am kind of a methodical person. I have most of Bangkok mapped out with suppliers, prices, etc. After building everything I can think of I am just board and tired of building things. I used to spend 600-1000 daily on motorbike taxis to find chemical suppliers, building material suppliers, food chemi suppliers. Now I have it all mapped out and its become routine.

I worked a while for a group that owned NIght Clubs/Concert Venue in Bangkok. It was fun/challenging because there were changes and special requests every week and it was on a very tight schedule. But the money went from a contractors price to a maintenance mans price and we had to bow out.

If any one in the group would like help locating suppliers in Bangkok, I am all ears. I would like to find something new and challenging to do hopefully outside of construction. I would love to do something different, possibly in renewable energy.

    looks cool

That looks cool. Definitely something I've never done and bigger than most of my projects. I am a person that has to stay busy all day to feel like I did something worthwhile.

I'd like to find something that is moving and I could get new experiences. I've never been able to work an office or retail job for a month in my life.

An odd Post really TofB - because it's not really Construction is it ? More of a Job-Seeking ad .
You're supposed to at least pretend you're building something . Then you can wander off well away from the Subject and talk about your Belgian pig-farming business or your opinion of the best colour for a Water Pump .
In my building Thread the actual construction work got in the way of all the stories about an indolent brother !

But you do touch onto something here when you say you need to be busy every day .
I too could never settle in Thailand and just sit around drinking beer in between napping in a hammock.

I hope you find what you need.

Hey, don't knock it till you try it. It does take a lot of dedication, time and effort.

    Unhappy

    Is that a record ?

Two posts and then gone ? No . I'm sure he'll be back .

I want to ask him about how good solid mass is for soundproofing against low frequencies.

I still do work in construction, not old enough or well off enough to retire. What kind of pics would you like? Double glazing, are you in mill tower? You know most condo's don't let you change anything on the outside of the building. I have a customer who sued the condo because of a film that didn't work due to a reflection off a nearby body of water. They applied a new film after the lawsuit and it is still not working. For triple glaze I have done a lot of sound proofing experiments for night clubs and I have to say that few if anything besides solid mass work for soundproofing in low frequencies.
