    Cleaning Tile Grout

I noticed that my lovely white grout in my tiles wasn't white anymore, it doesn't look too bad being black but really high lights the difference in tile sizes, so time to clean it.

You need bleach, this is tesco bleach at 15 percent, have to admit I prefer the vyxol at 20 percent, a toothbrush, probably best not to use one that you or your family are using anymore, a cap to pour the bleach into, and a cloth to wipe up the dirt and years of gunge that is covering your grout.

This is probably a breeding ground for every known disease to man, licking this would be as bad as eating scabs off of the backs of pigs or frying up some black pudding for breakfast.

A quick rub over with the tooth brush covered in toilet cleaner and you got nice white grout again.

I was just thinking about asking about this today. You must be a mind reader DD. Do you have ESPN?

Our place is only a few months old but I think they must have finished all the tiling before doing all the shitty jobs because the grout is dirty black already.

What made you choose pink tiles?

Would it work if you just got a stronger bleach and just poured it all over the floor?

I can't be arsed with the toothbrush bit.

I have tried to spend my whole life in womens bedrooms, look princey, sex to you may well be climbing on top of them and pumping away as quick as you can, lots of Australians are the same, me, I personally like to think when women have sex with me it is something they will remember and cherish as a great experiance, of course all the crap laying on the floor at this present time probably doesn't add to their experiance

The camera is like 5cm away from the grout, the pics are larger than life by about 4 times, also a schneider lense, that gaping chasm is about 4mm long and maybe 1mm wide.

I should add fresh prince I am not ridiculing you, lots of young blokes have problems with premature ejaculations, as you get older it will most likely happen less often, so don't worry about it, 10 seconds is more than enough for some girls, well, thats what the premature ejaculature society said....

No problem DD, I'm just glad now that I know that the secret to getting girls to drop their panties is pink tiles. It's good to learn from the wisdom of the older folk on the forum.

ok. There is an inexpensive tool sort of in the shape of a tooh brush with an approx. 1" narrow coarse diamond impregnated tip that fits inside the approx. 1/4" space between the ceramic squares. You have to run the tool up and down removing about half the grout. Then, you gave to re grout. The most important thing is to seek out the proper sealent to cover the new grout so you won't have to go through this again for a long time. It's a real chore. If your batroom cleaner works then great.

Yep. Paint all the joints with clear lacquer using an artist's brush. Q-tip works also but doesn't hold as much lacquer. Time consuming but worth it in the long run.

One word of caution about tile grout removers... used one in upstairs bathroom because of small leaks through floor. Found that it is easy to "nick" the edge of the tile and then have crack on top of tile. New grout won't cover this so you end up with black marks, streaks. Had to chip out tiles and replace then...

Interesting idea about power washer... ummm.. for outside tile that is.
