Price for new roof and installation?

My wife owns a little 2-story rental house in Surin that needs a new roof. What is on it now is the thin ceramic-like sheet tile so popular here (looks like corrugated metal but will shatter).

The house is about 100 sq meters under roof (per floor).

My questions:

How much for materials and installation?
Is there a cheaper or better material to do the job than the one described above?
Has anyone had dealings with any contractors there that they would recommend?

Any other helpful hints would be appreciated. I know nothing about this type of roofing, so no tidbit is too insignificant.

Sounds like the original roof is asbestos sheet. If old, then care is needed dismantling.

It looks most like the HH Corroshield ... and i would estimate the pitch to be around 25 degrees .. give or take 5 deg .. very low pitch .... also, wife just saw post and said house under roof is only 80 sq meters ...

You'll need about 100 sq meters of roofing material. I've seen this roofing material at local hardware store but don't know price. Hopefully some one else here can give you approx cost per square meter. Labor cost should be low as they are very easy to install.

Oh, and the roof is a simple rectangle with evenly divided front and rear halves (front slope and back slope).

About 90% of asbestos fibres in Thailand are found in roofing tiles and cement pipes. Homebuyers may not know that their homes contain the carcinogen.

But consider that it is not dangerous as long as it just sits there as a roof. It is dangerous during installation and even more so during dismantling.
While taking it down make sure that no fibres enter the house and you are not around. The workers should wear masks.

Yeah i think that it is asbestos.
Suit up with masks,wrap sheets a few at a time with polythene and tape.
Shower away from buildings at the end of the day.
Thoroughly vacuum the house and all the roof framing members,maybe wash it down.
This stuff is lethal over twenty years or more.
Your kids are most at risk,growing cells are more subject to cancer.
Dont take this lightly,please.
