anyway I have decided to abandon the canopy idea completely as I cannot get anything to blend in with the house.
I will put spouting up in the front and will tile the floor to the side of the house with a reasonable tilt to get rid of rain water which always lies there. It's covered already and will make a nice area outside for relaxing or dining.
