    Fancy Flooring in Thailand

I was in Ayutthaya earlier in the week and saw this floor, it's pretty damn good, a mixture of ceramic tiles, parquet and stone, I got to admit I have never done this on one floor alone and think it must be quite a nightmare to do, I think you would have to lay the tiles first for your nice straight lines and also that way they wouldn't be getting cement all over the nice wood, but then you got the problem of having the whole floor on the same level, ok so first you are using cement to stick down the tiles, next for the parquet area you need to screw done 10mm plywood to stick the parquet to, the parquet then needs sanding down with a belt sander, slight lack of concentration and they will be sanding down your nice ceramic tiles, yep I don't think I would bother letting my staff do this sort of job

If you're using 1x4x1/4 inch wood on your floor, then you are either stupid or non informed. I agree with DD on the mixture as being crazy but not when it comes to being good looking. At the labor rates here, it's not too crazy and I think with the right designer, it would look great. I think it comes down to what the application of what the floor usage would be.
