Hi there, back again, have been busy buying wood and sorting out builders..lots of pics to come, plans info etc. Once i work out how to get my phone to talk to my pc then the fun will start!
many thanks for your interest and support.

1 bathroom
1 kitchen (fridge, rice cooker,)
1 sala

deep water pump
domestic pump
outside lighting (12 total)
What do i need, please correct me if im wrong...
we have meter for temporary electric..
circuit breaker switch
RCBO
Consumer unit
Earth rod in ground connected to C/U
mains cable running to rooms
Im not sure on specifics, like amps etc, any other info much appreciated!
cheers
im hot its so hot today.......milk was a bad choice!
Will have to get new meter from local govt electric office. 15kw will do. Note, Thais often call it 15amp but it is 15kw.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk
Go with CB box with 10 cb slots. Get 100amp cb for main. Separate cb for each pump. Use other slots as you see fit with amps as appropriate for bedrooms, kitchen, outside lounge, and sala. Guessing you will have 6 or 7 separate cb's.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk
If this is for your computer purchase a decent battery backup unit with surge protection.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk

A must have. 3 wire to all electrics.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk
Would use all 3 wire cable. Much neater than 3 separate wires.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk
If you want hot water shower you can purchase anywhere in Thailand. Just be sure you get one with earth leakage breaker protection. Also, have a separate cb for the hot water heater. Should locate outside the door to bathroom.

That being the case it might be a good idea to hire a good electrician who will sort out all these problems for you.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk

Probably none but you may have to get a "permanent" one from local electric office.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk
JANDA - Thank you you're right i will, of course. I just like to know what im talking about and what i need and will give me the best protection. Then i know what im buying will give me exactly what im paying for.
NORTON - no problem, many thanks for your reply.
hopefully i will have some pics soon, the builders are getting near to the first post being raised. so there is a lot of cath up on my part!!!
It comes in roles. A flat cable with live, neutral and earth wire. You will see it at local supplier. Ask what size you need for house wiring.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk
Very mini. A single switch. Local supplier will have with cover, housing and the like. Looks like a switch. Cuts power to the water heater when not in use.Originally Posted by benlovesnuk
thanks that helps, my only other thought was to get a central heating system, apart from paying double is there anything better about this method then instantaneous water heater in the bathroom?
thanks for the continued help
You will need thicker electrical wiring for your instantaneous hot water system, atleast 6mm if you are going for a higher watt hot water system. I had to rewire my 2 newly built bathrooms after I had a look at the minimum required wire thickness according to the manufactures instructions book. So get your hot water system and wire it to the manufactures minimum requirment.
especially if bought from the builders relative,s DIY yardOriginally Posted by Ciaphas
This thread died. Was there ever a house?
Maybe Ben doesn't love Nuk anymore...
I hate these fukers that start a house building thread, with pics and plans, get everyone's hopes up, some go on for pages and pages, then they just die... Bad poster! Stone them...
Bens got another home on the go.
what happened to this one Ben?
this was a preemptive strike for this https://teakdoor.com/construction-in-...use-build.html (Traditional thai wood house build...)
