Really? The first one you have seen?

That does surprise me, there are a few to be seen where I live in the Isaan area.

I would have thought that they would be everywhere in Patters.

Shows you how much i know about the place

Yep, on the back of a lorry......the ones round here kind of "shoot" the concrete up in small spurts of a few gallons at a time.

Looks like a four stage boom. Probably Putzmeister or Schwing, Might be one of them So. Korean things impossible to tell. Depending on the (concrete) valve config and the piston size the thing'll go a fuck of lot higher than 6 floors. being a four stage boom it's probably a 32, 36 or 42 meter boom. Could be as big as 65 met. Just looks like a 32 doubtful there's even a reason (or budget) for one bigger in Pattaya. Figure a truck mounted pump is good for 10 floors, through the boom. good for another 10, maybe 20 if the mud is pumped through a stand-pipe right off the back end (not through the boom). Get much over 30 floors and you need a skid mounted pump (very similar to the one onthe truck) anchored to a tough slab on the ground. Big job like that, though, I'd have the skid mount in place ready to go at about floor 10 - 15.

The boom is probably removable so you can move it to a base up on the upper floors and add a 3phase electrical "power pack" Did a couple buioldings with that setup we ahve 3 pedestals and would move the boom to the next days pour. Sure got pretty good at weldin' 5" HD Pipe in the years I worked with the pumps.
had one running here in CM on a hotel downtown. Idiot I am I had to go just stand next to the pump and listen. Still love the sound of the aggregate hittin' the elbows and the rasp of mud slidin along the pipe and that diesel motors scremin along at 1800 RPM, machine workin like that; sings a lovely tune.

^ I'll second that. We have a concrete pump "trainspotter" amongst us.

Weird is cool. Least it ain't boring
They are fascinating pieces of equipment, complex as hell. lot's of adjustments and configurations to fiddle with, bit like tuning a high performance car or bike. gettin' one dialed in and runnin' smoooth is an art. I still like tuning carburetors too love the sound of any well tuned machine runnin sweet.
