Construction in Thailand Is building in Thailand as bad as it seems? Can properties really be built and fitted out to European standards? Would you like to Build your own house in Phuket, or a swimming pool in Bangkok? Solar water heating in Pattaya? Or maybe you want to build a resort or guesthouse on Koh Samui? If you want to build a luxury house in Thailand then this is the forum for you.

House building - timeframe

DD,

What's the typical amount of time it takes to build a standard 3 br house in Thailand in your experience? Not just your folks, but other outfits in general (since not everyone has the benefit of your fine management skills).

How fast could you do it in a best-case scenario, if everything went according to plan? How long for approvals and organising materials and actually getting stuff put up?

I won't ask the worst-case scenario, because I've seen half-finished houses from pre-97.

Thanks,
- Reg

3 months, nothing ever runs to plan here unfortuneately
also you need time for footings and beam work to set off, concrete reaches 80 percent hardness in 30 days, so there aint no point in rushing into wall building when footings and beams aint hard.
