Finally I have enough money to build a house. I just finished my house design though. Not as good as Moonie or Humbert but hope my olds like it hahaha...

Kudo..Not that bad Sharon. If this is your first try, then you have a talent.

However with some minor adjustments around the kitchen area, this could be a nice compact design.
Have you done the elevation? I would love to see it.

    Will this be in Thailand?

Agreed about the kitchen, it does not "flow" properly, you may find it difficult to work in (fridge, pantry nowhere near the cooking area, for example)

it would also be nice to try to fit in another bathroom, maybe an en suite

do you have a nice view from your terrace; if so, you might like to re-arrange the seating. If not, never mind
    I have reported your post

Out of interest, how much do you expect it to cost?

I'd love to now what sort of budget to apply.

Plus, I can't actually see any pictures (not enough posts?), so what's the configuration?

    Cheers,
    Harry

Nice house Sharon, I would think as Andy says that you will go potty having to run around the kitchen table every time you want something in the fridge though.

    Good luck with your house

Thanks Moonie, I agree with you and the others about the kitchen. I've been trying to figure it out how to arrange it then I just changed the fridge to be next to the door out the back yard but for a pantry hmmm... still don't know where to put it.

I put more details in the bedrooms though hehehe...

Yes, I actually build this one for my parents. Our current house is an old Thai style, they have to walk up and and down the stairs which it's not safe for them anymore since they are getting old.

Now I have only $600K but budget is around $500K hahaha.. I know I'm a tight arse. However, I have another year working here so I still have more time to save up more.

I won't be able to stay there while the house is being built but I'll try to get someone there, taking pictures and e-mail them to me then I can update to you guys.

I can't wait to talk to the builder, pick materials, furnitures and stuff. It's gonna be fun. Oh.. and I'll be so miserable when I got pictures and saw they're not what I want lol... we will see.

Not a nice view at all, just a road. A nice view is the backyard actually. Dad grows veggies and fruits, very greenie.

ahhh I see what you mean, going up and down the stair. My granny broke her hip because of it. I always in favor of an open floorplan rambler myself anyway, easier for me to run around chasing people.

Looking forward to see your building progress, as I'm looking to build next year or so.
