    Blocked Drains...AGAIN!

Any ideas what is the best way to unblock kitchen drains?
I need like a high pressure water or Chemical solution!

I have a kitchen in two inches of putrid water, with this black stinking filth pouring out of the floor drains (When a hose is applied-I was trying to flush it...all I did was flood it even more.)

I have red raw fet and hands after applying 5KG of Soda Fie - caustic soda that back washed, and soaked my jeans, and got inside my useless rubber gloves.

Takes me back to my scholldays as a twat, when we did chemistry, and you had to write down the reactions of chemicals during an experiment

"Soda Fie was applied, effervescence took place, a severe burning sensation was noted in all four extremeties, noxious gases were formed, and a very quick run out of the kitchen to a hosepiping down were required.

The experiment, as was the case in my schooldays, was NOT a sucess!

There appears to be some real hard core white shit, that is almost as hard as ceramic, i believe it is congealed FAT, it is fucking disgusting.

I have given up tonight due to the burns and the nausea, but if anyone knows of anything that can really go through this shit, it will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I will have a look at bleach, plunger is no use as the drains are interconnected to about six drainage points, so as you start plunging, the shit just spurts out of any of the other drain points.

I currently don't have enogh children to get them to stand on all of the drains at the same time yo force a bit of pressure.

I was looking at the wife tonight, and she seems to have got a bit FAT, and she has at least 6 "BITS" that if cut off correctly, could be used to plug a few of the holes...that's for tomorrow.

What is the difference between caustic soda and bleach...(not being funny, just trying to understand why one would dissolve fat and the other wouldn't...the soda seems to be doing a good job at dissolving my skin! - my feet are red raw, my knees are starting to shed skin, and my hands feel like they are on fire!)

You need some sort of plunger. It all depends on the diameter of your pipes. Take a bicycle pump for instance, try to replicate the working of that with the size of the pipe you have. All you have to ensure is that all of the force is projected forward the blockage. If you manage to even make a slight difference ie where the water escapes, you then try and pass a wire or string through and tie a cloth around the end and pull it through as if you were cleaning a rifle. If it happens on a regular basis then leave the wire/string in situe so that you can do the same again without the fuss.

What you do is make sure you block off each outlet and make them as airtight as possible so as to intensify the pressure where the blockage is.

So what's the score then, Bleach or Caustic soda?

I get this black stinking shit that appears first, but not very hard, then after a few hours of torment with hosepipes etc, I get this really tough calcium like stone shit, it really is disgusting, and i reckon that that must be like congealed fat, (fuck it makes me nearly puke just talking about it)

If I can get someting to break down this white crap, then I think I am there.

I am nearly at the point of blocking the outlet, pouring a few gallons of 95 down there and watching the fucker explode!

How anyone can work for the likes of Dynorod etc, it is the most disgusting shit i have had to deal with, and that is besides the burns...the smell alone is enough to fuck you!

I use Domestos, and you should see some of the rubbish that comes out of my pipes. Blue and brown pipes.

This has a lot of advantages. You can have a beer and watch t.v. while they get dirty....then you foot the bill.

I've just cleared a very tenacious blocked drain myself, but it took several days. First, avoid soda fai....too strong and can damage the seals on the pipes. Also, what doesn't dissolve can solidify into a lump and make things worse. You can get this brown liquid drain clearer in a white plastic bottle for about 65 - 80 baht. I forget the name of it. Poor it down the drain and stand back. It makes an impressive gurgling noise then all the pipework gets VERY hot. However, in my case, this just loosened the blockage. Next, for about 150 - 250 baht in Home Pro you can but a length of coiled steel wire wrapped up in a blue bobbin with a handle on it. Go to the outlet of the kitchen drain and start feeding this flexible steel cable up the pipe. When you feel you are meeting a bit of resistance, start slowly turning the handle and pushing forward gently. this should be burrowing into whatever is causing the blockage. Then pull the cable out and see what you have caught. In my case a broken sausage shaped length of fat and detritous was pulled out. I had to repeat this many times in conjunction with the acid going down the other end until I finaly cleared it. I reckon I spent about 600 baht on it and it was a real pain in the arse. At one stage I had actually fed the cable up the pipe for a length of 7 metres and I could hear it working its way up the pipe to the first floor bathroom. All in all.....[at][at][at][at] of a job.

Thank you so much, I will try Home Pro tomorrow, the thing is, despite the way I smell at the moment, and the terrible Napalm burning sensation, Your post had me falling off the chair laughing...

I managed to get a few metres of hose down the drain, but I am completely fucked at the minute, in fact, whatever shit was blocking the sinks, is now blocking everything, it has moved, and I have a bit of a suspicion that it was to do with some CUNTS that tiled the floor, my son (who has been employed in the rescue effort, founf lumps of concrete spewing out of one of the drains)...fuckers!

I did allow him to wear wellington boots however, but he is a bit pissed I used his tennis ball to plug the drain!

A few tablespoons of nitroglycerine should do the job.

Caustic soda, or lye, is another name for sodium hydroxide. It readily aborbs water and gets hot in the process. It is very corrosive and is one of the active ingredients in bleach.

If you have a washing machine that goes into the pipe it will probably be undiluted washing powder which absolutely stinks when it's been sitting around a while. Caustic soda may clear a partial hole in your pipe but once the water gets going it will then not be affective. Block the outlet tightly and then leave caustic soda in overnight before removing the stopper. It's works better that way. Trust me as I worked on sewers and drains for 18 years.

Regular usage of Draino or equivalent (sodium hydroxide, sodium nitrate, and sodium chloride), plunger, and a drain snake for real nasty clogs.

That's what I would suggest, there are also manually operated versions, you push them down and wind them up.

Would be a good idea to find out the more or less where the blockage is.

This is what I was on about except the ones in the bobbin case are better as you can wind the cable around. Caustic soda maybe o.k. on drains underground but not down the kitchen sink. Not all of it dissolves at the resulting hard lump can be an obstacle in itself.

    YOU TERRORIST!

I found that "brown liquid today, its called "TURTLE CLEAR" and by christ that should come with a warning, it is like high explosives.

The woman that sold me it said to where gloves, eye protection, and dont put it near water...ha ha!

The bottle (500ml) says to put half to a bottle in the drain.

It was my own fault I guess, as the drains are completely blocked, and full of water, so I tried emptying this fucker into the drain, Jesus, I nearly shit myself...it erupts like a volcano, literarally, it spews boiling chemicals into the air, if you were looking over the drain at the time it would blind you..no doubt about it, I have a few burns on my hands from the splashes...so if you use this, be very VERY CAREFUL!

(As I did not put on any gloves, i now have a pretty blistered hand.)

She also told me that if it really starts to "bubble" get the fuck out as it can explode!!! WE had smoke pouring out of the drains...but it didnt clear it.

    Too much water.

So then to plan B, I stuck another 4 KG of soda fie down, and boy was this fizzing.

I tried on numerous occaisions stuffing the hose down there to try and move something, but no luck. But there is only so much of this that your hands and feet can take..it burns like hell!

Now I have lobster red hands and feet as this bugger burnt me.

But then for the grand finale of stupidity...is it something that happens as we get old?

A while back, i made an Airgun from some 2" pipe, with a tyre valve at one end and a hand operated valve at the other, it is about 4 foot long and can easily take 100PSI.

It will launch a potato over 100m.

So, I had this really brilliant brainflash of using the gun to BLAST the shit out of the drains.

Pumps it up, sticks it down the drain, and seals the entrance with a pair of old rubber gloves.

Pull the trigger and FUCKING BHAM!

The gun goes off with one hell of a blast, unfortunately, there is a second floor drain about two feet from the first, and lo and behold, I get a volcanic eruption of soda fie, it reaches the ceiling and drenches me, within about two seconds I am burning like hell - My main worry was my eyes as it was running down my head and back, and near the corners of my eyes. Luckily I manged to blindly find my way to the shower next door and rinse the shit off, it has burned my back and elbows, burned the skin around my eyes, but luckily not in the eyes themselves... Destroyed a t shirt and a pair of levis, and a pair of boots. wicked shit!

Yes its getting a long story, but it hasnt finished.

I eventually managed to unblock the drain from the outside, I cut off the end of the drain pipe and shoved a hose pipe up there, and it eventually broke through, but what a disgusting pile of crap came out of there, I was nearly puking - I have left some of the remnants in the kitchen for the missus to deal with tomorrow...botulism....

But would you believe, as bad luck seems to come in bunches, the fucking water tanks ran out of water, so then I had to go and start to clean those out, in the dark and eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Got back in the house and the pump had run dry...got that going again and then the bloody washing maschine packed up...luckily it was only the filter on the water inlet that had blocked up with some sand after cleaning the water tanks!

    What an exceptionally SHIT day!

And my question today is - (any sparks out there???) Why would I get an electric shock pushing a plug in, if I have a Safe T cut, plus Earthing, and also a RCB Breaker box? Nothing tripped, but i got a bit of a jolt...any ideas?

I got a full whack once outside and it gave me a kick, but the Safe T cut tripped, this was more like an extremely uncomfortable feeling, but nothing tripped...any ideas?

And, any doctors out their? Is it possible to get a really bad dose of the SHITS from caustic soda?...if been really crok all day...or is it the filth from the drains...anyway, I promise I wont be farting tonight!
