Me and Mrs benbaaa are having our bathrooms done. The tiles, the sinks, the ceiling, the lights, the mirrors, the shower fittings, the extractor fans and just about everything else.
But we've just found out that our plans for replacing the old crappy plywood doors with uPVC bathroom doors is doomed to failure because the door openings in our bathrooms are non-standard size, and we don't want to go knocking bricks and lintels out. uPVC doors come 2m tall or 1.8m tall and nothing in between, but we need 1.915m for one and 1.96m for the other.
So we've found a nice local supplier of teak and hardwood doors who will make us a couple of nice louvred solid wood doors the right size. The new hardwood doors should be delivered next week, but they'll be untreated. Since these are bathroom doors, we want to know how to treat them to prevent warping or swelling due to the high humidity in the bathrooms.
Specifically, what are the best products to treat these doors with? We need brands and exact decriptions of good products commonly available from HomePro, HomeMart or Home Sukkapan.
The design we've picked is something like this, except only the lower panel is louvered.
Cheers,
bb
