Construction in Thailand Is building in Thailand as bad as it seems? Can properties really be built and fitted out to European standards? Would you like to Build your own house in Phuket, or a swimming pool in Bangkok? Solar water heating in Pattaya? Or maybe you want to build a resort or guesthouse on Koh Samui? If you want to build a luxury house in Thailand then this is the forum for you.

jandajoy, thanks for the pics, i havnt posted them before because i thought people may have already started, and also because the land is on a slope i thought it may be difficult for some member to design the house. which is why i kept it a level plot.

here are the pics for everyone, entrants can use the land you provided if they wish.

Is this the land for the compitition?

Am I allowed to ask question (s), before the design?

Those pics can't very tell that much you know

Well first....
Tell me your general requirements, I will ask for the details later
ex....how big, #bedrooms, #bathrooms, or any special handicap accessiblility? haha,
south, north, east, or west facing, which way is the major wind direction, do you or wife believe in using fungshui in the design?

....etcs.

....whatever you want to tell us

yes i know moon cakes, thats why i didnt post them, there really needs to be a chanote, elevation markers, gradients, north pointers blah blah blah.

ask the questions and hopefully jandajoy can answer them,

i suggested a flat plot because i wanted it open for everyone, plots with different elevations etc could prove difficult for some.

but you can use jandajoys land if you want, no problem.

You don't have a chanote, but jandajoy has a chanote and pics
Jandajoy is a thai?
Is she your wife?....or she is a "he"....wouldn't matter to me either one

Just confused that's all....
Am I suppose to ask you of what you want or up to janjajoy?

Who is my client, really here?

My two cents but I defer to Splitlid. This looks like a 'design concept' competition.
No working drawings are going to be produced. So it shouldn't concern anyone that somehow somebody is going to get something free that could be produced by an architect.

yep, i think your right Humbert, thanks for that.
the brief is simple, it says a max of 10m baht, but obviously you dont have to spend all of it.

the idea is to get people being creative, and design something which sticks to the brief but dosnt end up being your bog standard thai house.

i think people are reading too much into it, when really they should just give it a go, and see what they come up with.

Jeez. Rules, rules, rules. To hell with the rules, full speed ahead.

Here's my shot. Enjoy or not. Price approx 2.3M baht. Size approx 300 m2. 3 bedroom, 3 bath.

Simple design, easy to build, all materials locally available.

Right front.

Left rear.

Visual floor plan.

That looks terrible Norts. What kind if muppet would have a house like that?!

There's also a major flaw with that design. I reckon the sewage system is pretty suspect.

Yes is built to withstand average sized human waste and survive a tsunami. Only one incident of overload when a visiting full of crap Brit unloaded a full barrage on the system.

Use a program called 3D Home Architect by Broderbund. Very good for initial design but not so good for producing detailed build to drawings. Can export to AutoCad and then finish the details.
