Land raising Buriram

Hi all
Anyone know what soil should cost currently for raising land in the buriram area and perhaps number of said company ?
I have land about 4 miles outside buriram town.

Well in neighbouring Korat its between 600-900 baht per 10 wheel truck load, but I think I've read (on this forum somewhere) that its a bit cheaper in Buriram.

Just bought some 2 days ago in Roiet. 180 baht per load. Should be about the same in Buriram.

Depends on how much you want to raise the land.

About a metre maybe 1.5

Been a couple of years but I believe it took about 260 truck loads to raise 1 rai 1 meter.

Average dump truck can carry about 4 cubic meters? Don't know!

400 divided by 4 equals 100 trucks

100 trucks times average price of 400 baht equals 40,000 baht

This is but one problem with building in Thailand. All dump trucks do not have the same bed capacity. I read where many posters have this done before they actually arrive on the construction site. By doing so, they have already lost money.

not close but your theory is correct

If you are going to raise you land you needs someone trustworthy who will hand the truckdriver(s) a ticket (with a signature) for every truckload of sand. In the end you pay only for your tickets issued and returned so you can keep a precise number of truckloads delivered. You will get ripped of if you leave the counting it up to them. Tell this beforehand to the people who are delivering the sand and there will be no misunderstanding.

Why do you want to raise it? Farming, building house, shet, factory ect. and last but not least how many rai? It might be more economical to buy, rent, lease somewhere else

Ooops! I'm bad. I looked at a chart I have and obviously without enough coffee in me my eyes picked a wrong number. Yes 1600 is the sq meters for 1 rai. And the the calculation changes a bit. Like 4 times as many trucks using my 4 cubic meters per truck and 4 times the cost.

Thanks guys i think i will take your advice and do the ticket per load thing as i we was first quoted 80k for 1 rai then that went up to 100k which is why i asked as that seems a bit on the steep side to me lol.
The land will be built on and used for a small farming operation just for fun and it is 3 rai and a bit.

Just to add in, last week got quoted 150 baht per dump load in Yasothon area - but as others have said, a direct comparison is hard to make as each truck and capacity of fill can differ. You really want to be looking at each load making sure the truck is being properly loaded each time and let it be known you are looking as well as doing the ticket idea.

If you are on 3 rai - why not dig a dam and use the dirt to offset some of the truck loads. That way you have water for irrigation and you can also shove some fish in there for fun also. Just as an example - 2 rai of (whatever you are growing) is going to produce a lot more in Burriram if it is irrigated well compared to 3 rai struggling for enough water.

i got soil for 200 bath a small truckload in krasang 15 kilometers out side buri ram bu the soil came from diging new dams just look where they dig dams near by and arsk for a price and u will be able to make a fair deal

if they dig dams for others they just want to get rit of the soil so price depend on distance to move the soil

I think the quality of the soil also enters into it?

Like, if you're just raising to build a house then you can use the cheap dead rocky grit they blast out of mountains. But if it's for a garden/orchard etc then I think you need better top soil.

I'm actually wondering if you could for example first dig out the existing good top soil and set it aside somewhere, then dump in the dead rocky shit and then recover with the top soil you saved? Not sure if that would even be worth it, as you'd need to rend diggers for a couple days to do that.

Hi JaiYinYin i have asked my g'friend yesterday to arrange some soil and she has to pay 160 bath per load (+/- 4m2 a load)
Her town is aprox 35 km from Buriram near Prakhonchai.
