Some Websites About Construction in Thailand

    Super Block.

Yep its the Thai insulation block.

Superblock is a building material that combines lightweight with high strength and provides a number of advantages over alternative building materials through superior properties such as thermal insulation, acoustic dampening and fire resistance. Superblock is manufactured from cement , lime and sand which are all acquired from the local market, and are mixed with water to form a slurry, then Aluminium powder is added, which is the only raw material imported The aluminium powder reacts with lime to form millions of tiny hydrogen bubbles which expand the mixture and then diffuse from the material to be replaced by air. This process forms the micro - cellular structure, which gives the material its lightweight and excellent insulation.

    Q Con, more blocks.

Q-CON is autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), a revolutionary material that offers a unique combination of strength, low density, thermal insulation, fire resistance and unprecedented buildability. Originality developed in Sweden more than 70 years ago. Now Q-CON AAC products are aviable in Thailand by Quality Construction Products Public Co.,Ltd.

Ok I admit that this has nothing to do with Thailand, but I like it

These pages are designed to give some advise to koi keepers in the UK who intend to build a pond, but are uncertain how to set about designing and starting the project.
It is not intended to give full details on how to build it, but give you some thoughts that should help you with the design. Every one has there own thoughts on what they want.
In the United Kingdom because of the long winters it is necessary to have deep ponds of a minimum of 4ft 6ins, and preferably five to six feet deep if you intend to look after large fish, or do not live in the south of the country. For this reason the ponds described here fit within this criteria, and smaller shallow ponds have not been considered.

So you aint got enough dosh to build a proper house? have a look thru this article on building your own mud house in Thailand

    http://www.sustainableabc.com/i-thailand.htm

Q: Let’s start by asking Jon about your background: who are you and how did you become interested in earthen building.

JON: The first thing is, I wasn’t interested in building at all. I think about self-reliance, so I go back to become a farmer. And then, to become a farmer is not enough to become self-reliant. I have to learn to do everything that I need. So I have to learn about building. Then I have a chance to visit Taos Pueblo in New Mexico, and I like it a lot. When I went back home, I start to build. I feel like it’s very easy to build a house. Before that I worry a lot about the house – it’s a big thing I can’t get easily. But the first adobe house was easier than I thought it would be. And after that I build a house almost every year – at least one building per year.
