This is the fish pond after a year or so. i constantly change the small plants as many do not survive. To me, this front garden is much like a work of art in progress.

i have been through about 4 sump pumps until I learned what to do. A timer was the key...

I had the wrong type of fish pond in mind, when I opened this. I've got a fish pond but it's about 1 rai !! It's a bit empty at the moment, just waiting for a couple of more downpours to fill it, never have problems with plants, they just grow naturaly in it. Going to stock about 500 Pla Duk, 500 Pla Tap Tin or Pla Lat, then mabye 10-20 Pla Chon in a month or two's time

No probs mate....we usually fish with a net though, sod all this sitting on the bank dangling a piece of string in for hours

I have one about that size hillbilly, damn hard to keep clean, with the heat here scum seems to form in about 10 days or so.

Tour right AO. I have a Thai guy come buy about every 2 weeks to clean the pond. Damn expensive though. Cost me B220 every time. The B20 tip does add up!

Some further advice to assist those who love ponds. Pond plumbing for instance is not like Pool plumbing.

Heres's a bit of sage advice from the main article:
Remember, a pump can’t pump out water if there isn’t any available. Even if your supply line comes up and over the top of the pond wall, it will still offer a flooded suction if it has no breaks to atmosphere before it goes back down below the surface level.
