    There is a Thai Company called 7A in Bangkok..google them ..easy to find. English site ..have done several big projects w/ them . If you call them ask for K. Sunnee ..her English is good. Another company is U.N. Electric in Bangkok...better prices but English can be a challange...You are in Phuket so..I don't know if this will help?

    Don't mean to be rude dude but;

    Not knowing the specifics I would think that knowledge of purchasing would be a major point in doing a contract for a major housing project. As an area of definite possibilities for fraud etc. I would want my contractor/project manager to be very knowledgeable in regard to materials pricing.

    Not meant be derisive just jumped out at me.

    Agreed, but perhaps he's doing his own research/fact-finding to back up the claims of his contractor?

    Contractor: "Oh yes, we can find you the best prices..."

    Just what is this building project for?
    Is it a charity gig for free housing for elderly or underprivelaged?
    or is this a deal for profit.

    Sounds as if it is charity then you should maybe ask your suppliers for a deep discount as you are doing this cost free to an org.
    But if it is for profit then why should anyone give you at cost discounts so that you can make a bigger profit for yourself and expect them to take that profit from what they would have made.

    Are you maybe a missionary??

    for something that big, maybe you should go direct to the manufacturers, as the building supply companies do

    much more problems but you would cut out the middlemen
