| Khun Panthip, I'm with you on the difficulty and frustration on trying to manage the building of a house from a distance. It surely is not easy to do and make sure that things remain on track. Seems like your doing the best thing and that is staying in communication with the contract builder. Keep up the good work. Ciao!

| Electrically it is a minefield of bad work here. One favourite i have seen in many homes here is for the light circuit for a room to be teed off the rooms power circuit, Circuit breaker earthed but there it ends with only live and neutral running to the outlets. They rarely identify the circiuts in the control unit too. |

| Nong Khai | 28.08.08 Casting of the pillars Sorry to disturb you gents but I have received some new images I want to post. I hope you don’t mind. There have been several days with rain and that has halted the progress at bit but today it was possible to do some work again. ![]() The scaffolding is rather quick to build it seems. ![]() The good stuff is on its way. ![]() The conveyer link is in place and running. One of the lads looks like an executioner. ![]() The good stuff is poured in. ![]() The top man is waiting for another bucket. ![]() Some of the pillars are nearly completed. ![]() To work here one must be able to do some climbing. |

| Nong Khai | 30.08.08 Pillar work Thanks a lot for your nice replies. Here are some pictures I received today. Do I deserve a star now or how many posts does that require? ![]() The builders are preparing the casting of the last pillars. The scaffolding structure is still eminent. One do not waste any time on erection of railing and comfortable access. ![]() The completed pillars are wrapped in plastic to avoid desiccation of the concrete. ![]() The pillars have to be wrapped up for 1 or 2 weeks. ![]() Stonehenge skyline? Same same but different. ![]() Khun shutterer removes the rough boards. ![]() Concrete for the last pillar is handed up. ![]() The rough boards are fine tuned, I guess. |

| Nong Khai | 02.09.08 Preparations for the second floor. Here are the images I received late last night, showing the activities of September 2nd. ![]() The building process is moving into another phase. ![]() Now one can sense the dimension of the house. According the drawings there is 3,25 meter up to the second floor. ![]() ![]() Dirt is filled back into the foundation. ![]() Measurements for the posts are being taken. ![]() ![]() Another gallows is ready for installation. ![]() The rough boards are being prepared for recycling. ![]() ![]() That was all for today. Tomorrow I’ll go back offshore but I’ll try to keep the tread going when I receive new photos. It depend how busy my work will be but I hope to have some spare hours in some evenings. |
