    A water leak in Bangkok...

Normally our water bill in BKK is about B300-400. This depends on how much I decide to water the garden. Sometimes, I forget to turn off the sprinkler for an hour or six, thus the difference in the bill.

Last month, the water guy came by on his regular rounds and gave us a bill for B1.100. He said we might have a leak. He was right.

Let's try to found out the problem.

First here is our tank which I think cost about B12,000 and our pump that ran about B7,000. After our latest bill, I noticed that the pump was running about every 3 minutes. Yes, I am always on my toes here in the concrete jungle of Bangkok...

After much discussion we agreed that the problem MIGHT have started here.

The conversation went like this. Us 'ba falangs' (dumb people other than Thais) want everything buried. Thais will have electrical wires and water pipes on the outside.

As water seeks its own level, the quest continues. This water leak might turn out to to be rather expensive. I am guessing about B50,000. We will see...

turn everything off in the house then get a scwewdriver place the blade end against the pipe and your ear onto the handle and listen for a sound
dunno if it works on them plastic pipes though
or have a gander at the water meter to see if its pointer is moving

Do you mean that someone left the hose dripping and the water has undermined something?

It appears we have minor technical problems. Hillbilly has accidentally stuck a screw driver blade into an electrical outlet but paramedics will have it extracted from his ear momentarily. Our program will resume shortly. Don't touch that remote and stay tuned for the exciting conclusion.

I will make a guess, float on pump was not operating properly and water was going out of the overflow pipe?

    You guys are a riot!

Anyway we think the leak is in this area somewhere. This shot show the daughter's bedroom and part of the back garden.

We start to uncover a water pipe here. This pipe basically delivers water to the daughter's bathroom.

This pic shows a clue to the water leak. I have deliberately left out a few key shots. If anyone can guess what is going on, they can have a free night at D&G Resort!

One bite at the apple. Enjoy TD posters!
