at the risk of wasting my time trying to tell a english speaking foreigner anything. ie a yank. putty is putty glazing is glass. if a manufacturer wishes to use advert freedom , it does not make kitkat cordonblue. so shove it up ur arse. now if yo desire advise it is this. use silocone, if you prefer traditional, buy lime + boiled linseed oil mix to a doe, wullar you have putty, sorry , glazing putty.. i know you yanks are on the ball with technical stuff , but putty requires a certain level of skill. like someone else said give them a beer and look and learn.

I went through this with Marmite when I started this thread. I conceeded to him that the English version of "glazing" and the American version of "glazing" were not the same. I conceeded that he knew what the English version of glazing was. As someone that professionally painted from 1971-1980, I knew and had used the american version of glazing. I never said one version was better or right. I left that to Marmite. By the way, its not just Dap that produces the american version of glazing. I can probably go to several paint stores and find other companies version of glazing. This post has gotten to the point of not recognizing facts but stating the English version of glazing is the only recognised version. I really don't like to be refered to as "talking out of my arse," considering I made a living from painting for almost 10 years but if you want to present yourself as someone that knows everything about construction, go right ahead. I made my point by facts and will stand by them.

My Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary (a Merriam-Webster) says:

glazing -1: the action, process or trade of using or applying glaze
    -2a: Glasswork
    b: Glaze

"My dad did twenty." How can I compete with that logic? You win!

Good debate and personally I am glad that nonsense about the language barrier is solved.

Whilst I am having a think, my favourite place to keep my glazing is in my fanny pack...

Isn't glazing a bit sharp to keep in a bum bag? I'll have to ask DD.
