    Genset controller, where to buy.

We have a little (4kVA) Sakari genset (gasoline).

This unit is electric start but not auto start (you have to turn the key). I'd like to make it full auto with a unit like this Autostart AS700 engine/generator control - F W Murphy UK or this Automatic Generator Control Module

The man at the local pumps/engines/gensets shop looked blank as I tried with my iffy Thai / wifeys poor comprehension to define exactly what I want.

Anybody know a Thai manufacturer/outlet (shop or online order) for these beasties?

Cheers Thetyim, the RGAM series units made by Lovato (in Italy) and sold by Elmec look promising.

In the absence of pricing on the Elmec site we're off to the local shop with piccies this time

If no luck there try Diamond Brothers in Bangkok-Perkins dealers - they are fitted on on most of their OEM supplied gensets .

Hi Igor, the GenControl.co.uk does not have local distributors here but they do international shipping, and also you can reprogram your controller online on their website and receive your own cusomised module. At the moment they even supply external 20amp relays free of charge. I think you may save $$$$ ordering your controller with them instead of purchasing megaexpensive bulky things from Perkins dealers.

I have to switch the line switch myself and start the gen set, but it didn't cost me anything either, and I don't know how an auto switch would work for us here anyway with the voltage fluctuation that we have. 175 to 240 Vac is quite a lot.
Damn hard on UPS for our puters.

Sound advice - I'm sorry -I slipped into ex-work mode in my post

Was with Cat/Rolls Royce Diesel/Perkins (All one company now but I worked for each when they were separate )
Their prices were/are outrageous but I was on commission !!!

Gen Control is the way to go !

Yep, after a second abortive trip to the shop and a quote of 20k we're going to do just that.

    Thanks to all that contributed.
