    Push broom

Has anybody here ever seen a push broom in Thailand? I havent.

I was looking for one all day the other day. I went to Global, which is one of the biggest hardware stores I have ever seen, none. Tried Home Pro, nothing. Makro nadda..

So have you ever seen one? If so where..

I cant imagine sweeping 400 square meters with one of those bamboo brooms or even a decent western style normal broom..

The push broom was actually invented in Thailand. So was the ladle.

I suppose that if finding a broom in Thailand counts as "construction" then you don't get out much!

Fuck me , Thailand invented something.
It would be interesting to find out other things that were invented here. Telling porky pies would be the main one. Which is quite obvious.

    Mr Luen Pongsobhon

" His inventions include the three-wheeled bicycle, which once filled the streets of Bangkok, and the long-tail boat. He also made one of the first 16mm films in Thailand."

Just checking! This is after all a Thai invention. It's a bit of a riddle isn't it ? Gotta be the tri-shaw taxis you still see around upcountry. Wouldn't have thought they were a Thai invention though.

    ^ I wonder if they mean the Tuk-Tuk ?

I am not convinced that it was invented in LOS but I see some websites claim it as a thai invention

But the tuk-tuk has an engine. Does it count as a bicycle?

Japanese. Came to Thailand in 1959, by 1960 the Thais were making their own. Maybe they mean the rickshaw.
Edit: Rickshaws were invented by an American!! Who'da thunk it?

Whenever he had free time Mr. Luen Pongsobhon used his ingenuity to economically produce western inventions in Siam because he was a certified mechanical engineer circus entertainment (motocycle-on-wall-of-deat, ferris wheel, aeroplane carousel, minitrain, bumper car, go-kart, etc.) tricycle, tractor, long-tail boat, rubber tyre for tricycle and automobile, movie production, etc.

Done a google on this bloke Luen Pongsobhon and it appears that he was an engineer who spent time in the USA and when he came back to LOS he started copying everything he had seen .

"Whenever he had free time Mr. Luen Pongsobhon used his ingenuity to economically produce western inventions in Siam because he was a certified mechanical engineer circus entertainment (motocycle-on-wall-of-death, ferris wheel, aeroplane carousel, minitrain, bumper car, go-kart, etc.) tricycle, tractor, long-tail boat, rubber tyre for tricycle and automobile, movie production, etc."

So looks like Thailand has invented next to nothing

^^ I reckon those brooms still aren't wide enough for Cali, Thetyim. Maybe tie two together?
Red Bull -- Japanese, no? Had lots of power drinks (ie, loaded with caffeine) when I lived there in the 80s.

The origins of Red Bull are in Hong Kong. The original Red Bull drink was developed by the company TC Pharmaceutical. The recipe was based on Liptovan, an earlier energy drink that had been introduced to Thailand from Japan
From Wiki, granted, but I was almost right.
