    More utter nonsense.

It all depends on what other filters you have (carbon, sand, ceramic, paper, etc) prior to the resin filter. Your resin filter may need backflushing more often if it's getting clogged unnecessarily because you haven't got the correct sequence of filter material. If you're 'reactivating' the resin unnecessarily every time you backflush it you are not only wasting a lot of money buying salt for no reason but you are also unnecessarily damaging the area where your salt water backflush is dumped.

A responsible and informed manufacturer will ensure that you at least know what sequence of filters you need for your particular circumstances. An uninformed and irresponsible supplier will either not know or not care if your system is operating effectively and efficiently as long as you buy their rubbish and/or boost their ego.

Carbon & stainless the welds will corrode, as they uses 204 .
    Do "they"? Really?

    204?

It's 304 that has the problem, not 204. Just as well that "they" use it
primarily to make pots and pans in Thailand, not water filters ..... and it's got nothing to with welding 204 or 304 per se.

A little knowledge really is a dangerous thing, and in this case it's very little knowledge indeed. Follow the manufacturer's instructions - but check the manufacturer first!

Here we go put your ideas on fellow members.
Here is a picture of a auto MPV & when it backwashes then it regenerates every time.
They use only a small amount of salt.
If you have a water PH above 6.8 then you can uses Birm to soften the water, if you think the salt is to expensive & unnecessarily damage to the environment.

When you install the filter in it right position, backwash first.
check your pressure gauge, if your running 4 bar then you should backwash 3.5 bar.
So with all filter for house or swimming pool 0.5 drop in pressure, it time to backwash.

    Crippen you are right
    Thanks,man

No idea what I think of fellow members here has to do with it, but you are confusing two totally different systems, either deliberately or due to a lack of very basic knowledge and rationality.

Automatic backwash systems are, because of the cost if nothing else, likely to be a) properly set up and installed with the correct sequence of all equipment and differing filter materials and b) set up so they only backwash when required.

Manual systems, if produced by an unapproved and unregistered manufacturer and then installed without reference to approved manufacturers of filters or ancillaries, contrary to their instructions, are likely to be incorrectly installed, in the wrong sequence and without the correct series of other filters (carbon, sand, etc) that would vastly reduce the need for backwashing and re-activation and consequently b) need backwashing far more often than they should.

There's not necessarily any valid comparison between the two systems at all, either in how they work or how they're set up, which obviously dictates how they're maintained. This is simply more ill-informed nonsense.

    Update:

A supervisor from Mazuma came to inspect the installation that was cocked up the first time. After looking it he agreed, installing after the pump was better and suggested not to use the tank for storage.

    It seems much better now.

The smell i reported only seems to come from an electrolux shower. I have 3 steibel Eltrons that are fine!

So if I've understood correctly he's advised you to bin the tank and pump direct from the mains?

Silly question it is maybe? What exactly is this need to filter...suspended stuff, microbes..paranoia?
Maybe just chuck some crushed alum in ya tank and collect rainwater for drinking?

No doubt many of us have been drinking unfiltered water for years...are we all gonna die..5555?

Bet some of you use those antibiotic wipes too?

Think the whole world is becoming a bit anal .....so much FUD!!

555 just read that a study declares flossing is a waste of time....
