    Building an attached carport

My carport is just not quite as wide as I'd like it. We want to add one on to the front and make it wider. I want to make it from wood. Questions I have are: Is building with teak going to break the bank? Is lattice available in Thailand? I haven't found any. I thought if I used lattice on top with something clear to cover, it would allow light.

One thing is for certain, it won't be cheap.

Can I ask, is there any particular reason you want to make it from wood? I presuming it's a question of asthetics? Because even with the usual concrete/tile jobs you see you can make those rather attractive by simply using nice wood trim and/or wood panelling for the roof (underside).

Anyways, good luck with it. We're building one right now also as part of our house renovations.

The project manager (wife) wants wood for asthetics and loves teak. She also requires the cover to allow light.

Ahhh, I see. Well then... you're doomed!

Actually - if I'm getting this right - I think I know what you're on about. Wish I could help but other than saying good luck not really sure what to add. As I say we've gone for the more 'traditional' carport.
