    Onsite construction of above ground concrete water tank

    I saw somewhere, but cannot find it now , of a concrete water tank being built. Does anyone know anything about this .

    If it is the one i'm thinking of the thread was to do with water treatment or removing iron from water.

    If you're up-country go to any temple and you'll see plenty.

    Basically interlocking rings, with an outlet in the bottom one and inlet, usually with a ball valve, at the top, on either a slab or pre-cast base. Only thing to be careful of is that the builder adds a sealer/waterproofer, which you can buy at any building supplier.

    It's about as basic a building project as it's possible to call a project!

    This tank was nothing to do with concrete rings. It was built same as 2 i had in Queensland. First a concrete slab then circular moulds, steel inserted and concrete poured in. Top was another mould with square access hatch big enough for a man to enter. The Thais did a very good job.

    Aaah .... different question, same answer! Go to an up-country temple and you'll see plenty, and there's often one under construction. If there's not talk to the abbot and ask - they're quite friendly!
