    Screened in porch like them?

I remember visiting my grandparents house as a kid and most houses had a screened in porch.

I believe they were made out of 2x4s plus screen.

Love to have one built...or see one..maybe now days they are made out of metal and screen?

any ideas...do you have one? I have a nice large porch I would love to screen in.

Interesting idea Stewart. I've never seen one, but I don't see why not. But, then again, I'm just a Newbie in Chiang Mai (Don Kaew).

Same here - it's where the grand kids were exiled to during visits....

We called it the back porch in Alabama, but in Florida, they're called "Florida" rooms as I recall.

    ^miss Florida?

    Screened in porch like them?
sometimes (when the mosquitoes are out)

Here’s a picture of one screened in patio (aluminum frame) in Florida we use when guests are visiting or there’s a meeting and the weather is nice outside. I am sure you could show/guide someone in Thailand how you would like them made.

    shhh,.he's resting

Here’s another patio but open air (same house) which we would much rather use but are restricted due to mosquito season.

Yes and no....I don't think I could take all of the people that infest the place now but I do miss the pre population explosion Florida....

The room doesn't have any of the bamboo blinds that roll down to keep the sun/rain out.....

    It's a patio, not a Florida room

Screened in front porches belong to another era when most homes had a large front porch that could be easily enclosed. Very few modern home designs can accomodate an enclosed screen porch. A screened enclosure in the rear of the house is probably more doable.

Thanks all for the reply's. I had some windows installed in a home here once. I could just order a window company to install just the screens I guess.
I have 2 perfect places out of the sun where a screened in porch would be great, plus keep the birds out too form nesting.
S Landreth I like you porch..that would be perfect!
