I remember visiting my grandparents house as a kid and most houses had a screened in porch.
I believe they were made out of 2x4s plus screen.
Love to have one built...or see one..maybe now days they are made out of metal and screen?
any ideas...do you have one? I have a nice large porch I would love to screen in.

Interesting idea Stewart. I've never seen one, but I don't see why not. But, then again, I'm just a Newbie in Chiang Mai (Don Kaew).:rolleyes:
Hard to air con - but fairly usual stuff in Oz, mainly on rear of house so hard to get pic

Here’s a picture of one screened in patio (aluminum frame) in Florida we use when guests are visiting or there’s a meeting and the weather is nice outside. I am sure you could show/guide someone in Thailand how you would like them made.

Here’s another patio but open air (same house) which we would much rather use but are restricted due to mosquito season.

Thanks all for the reply's. I had some windows installed in a home here once. I could just order a window company to install just the screens I guess.
I have 2 perfect places out of the sun where a screened in porch would be great, plus keep the birds out too form nesting.

What a great thread I just happened to find tonight. Did you ever build your screened patio? I juat finished a house build and on the list is to do a wrap around (on two or three sides) screened porch. I plan to make it a DIY so did not ask builder. they hardly seem to.know about them here even though its a great place for one imo.
I also grew up with the back yard patio and always at the cottage...it was a requirement to have screened porch.
My thinkinh here is to almost add another 50% to the encloaed space with the addition of screened porch.
OP those were great pics, a bit of a kick plate or more is a great idea. I am going to juat have mine rest on concrete footings at grade, not put pilings in. Ground here is rock hard and structure will be light and not connected to the house, want it to float free so no vibration transfers inside.
