    Builder Required, Kanchanaburi Area

I am trying to find a half reasonable and trustworthy builder around the Kanchanaburi area.
I have the usual recommendations from family etc but I am a very cautious person and just naturally mistrusting and I have had many dealings with Thailand.
If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I guess I need to make my thread a bit more interesting. That or there are no builders in the Kanchanaburi area.
I do have a few questions if any ones got any building knowledge here.

-To fill or not to fill. I understand that the house has to be high but why fill before building. surely you just end up digging through the fill into the stable ground below. ??

-Fill prices seem to vary dramatically, I have been quoted 1400 Baht for those 8 wheel lorries whish I think hold between 6 to 8 m3. seemed a bit expensive to me.

-There seem to be quite a few ways to tackle the actual construction. Contract, Labour Contract with purchase of materials, or ad hoc with direct supervision.

-I am trying to build a smallish 150 m2 single storey house with a 1.5 m Baht budget, is that realistic ?

-My first Architect proved to just be a waste of space, anyone got any one here they trust.

-I am under no illusion about the stress involved in building here but I am just trying to anticipate all the potential problems as nothing in Thai goes to plan. I have read most of the construction stuff on this site and many others.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

Thais seem to think it's easier to fill then build. West do the opposite with a slab house, but it might be better for a stilt or pillar house. Do you want Somchai driving and backing up a big truck next to your just finished house?

    10000 baht/meter is easily do-able with a basic finish/fittings.

There is a guy here who can do drawings/plans, koelchetka or similar is his nick. Look in the building threads for him.

Fill prices vary dramatically by area, it's 500 baht here but thousands elsewhere. Timing also effects it, if someone is diffing a pond and someone else wants fill at the same time.....
