    Cabinet rack build - BKK

About 6 months ago I was on my way somewhere (likely leaving from Sukhumvit area, could be around Rama IV) and I went down a street that had about 20-30 shops making what looked to be cabinets, drawers, from wood. I'm looking to make a equipment cabinet.

This is not the art or teak shops of Soi PraCha Naruemit (can't post link as newbie)

It was just a bunch of handymen that will build stuff.

Anyone happen to know where it is? WOuld be grateful as I'm working on a home office and need some small cabintry work done.

Maybe Sukhumviit 93 or Klong Toey? Anyone have a suggestion where to look?

    Shagnastier,

Yep, that's it. Klong Toei. I guess all the items they make are out of crate/palette wood right? Do you happen to know if they have more "stronger" woods?

    Thanks again, really appreciate it!

The strip is about 100m long or so. The shopfronts on the main road sell mostly re-claimed wood (from palettes etc) but there are a few workshop type set-ups where you can get them to make the stuff you want when you buy the timber.

If you cut through one of the shopfronts and onto the train track behind, about halfway down the strip (the 100m stretch - but at the rear) there is a really big yard which has a lot of different types of wood (For hardwood they have Mai Sak and Mai Daeng. All types of dimentions (upto /6m lengths).

Great little spot to get cheap but quality timber.

Given the proper measurements, should I assume those guys can build about anything?

Any idea which wood might be the best to prevent termites? All of my upcoming projects are indoor related but just want to make sure. Also, any idea if they can do laminate on some of the outer facing components?

Thinking this may be a better way then me trying to do it myself and less likely for me to injure myself
