Water pump and Tank installer in Krabi?

    Hi,

My wife and I are in the process of building a house in Krabi and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good shop to install a water tank, pressure tank and pump? We have a deep well that was drilled and a pump from it but our builder has not been very helpful in supplying us with a vendor for the rest of the connection to the house.

What I believe we want is a 2000l tank, a whole house filter to take out the particulate matter and pump with pressure tank to supply steady water pressure to our two story home. I know that Grundfos, Hitachi and others have what I need and I guess I could purchase it myself from homepro and install it, but was hoping to have it done by a local company. I will also install a separate filter system in the kitchen for drinking and cooking water, but I can handle that part as part of the kitchen install.

    Thanks in advance,

    Richard

Soon to be splitting my time between Los Angeles and Krabi.

OOooooohhhhhh Krabi !!! I love it down there.

I haven't tried these guys yet, but they were recommended on another thread. I know I want a whole house filter as well, plus something more for the kitchen. Page 5 has some whole house filters. I have no idea about their pricing.

I believe they have locations around Thailand. Perhaps your wife could try calling them ?

I can't help you with suggestions for a local company.

Look forward to reading your build thread. And it better have a sea view !!

Thanks Steve, I'll get around to some pictures etc. soon. We are using PDHouse which has worked out mostly OK or as good as could be expected considering my Thai wife has been flying back and forth from the US to supervise.

There isn't an ocean view, it's on Krabi Yai klong so it is on the water, just not the BIG water. It is some property we bought about 20 years ago and have been waiting to build until my retirement which is now. It's very remote feeling without being really out in the sticks.

BTW, nice Triumph in your photo, I've owned a few myself.

We used PD HOUSE as well, with mixed results. But better than another guy who got screwed over by them. And he had picked them based on our house building project.
What's your project number ? I'm curious to see what house design you picked.

We picked the WA-371 plan which is quite a bit smaller than yours. We enclosed the car port to create a laundry room and move the bathroom out of the center of the main floor. That allowed us to create a more open plan on the first floor. Why do all the plans have a bathroom right in the middle of the living and dining room? Personally I want a little privacy.

I'm planning on purchasing Ikea cabinets for the kitchen - I have installed them here in the US and have been very happy with the results. I can't get used to the look of the concrete cabinets PD House wanted to install even if they work just fine. We will get locally sourced granite for the counters.

Pictures coming soon, I just read the faq on uploading.

We've got a funky layout in our kitchen area, with a lot of windows. I'm going to try and play around with the Ikea 3D kitchen planner, but not sure if we'll use their cabinets. I do like some of their stuff, but I think the concern about wood is the termites you might get. Be sure you've got the "termite grid" underneath your house.

Go over the electrical plan very carefully and think about what you will want in the future. I added a lot of outlets, so we don't have extensions cords everywhere. Some with lighting.

Watch things carefully with PD House. I found several things that were changed and they were not going to tell me about them until I noticed them.

And I'm still waiting for them to finish up a lot of little things that have not yet been done. At first, I was very pro PD House and their house construction, but they have really been letting me down the last year.

    Good luck !

Yep, we added a bunch of outlets but it still won't be up to US standards. We have caught several issues, but hope they can finish this summer. At least that is when they told us but it looks like your home took several years. Is it

The internal and external walls are done, roof is done, electrical rough in is done but waiting for flooring, windows, outlets and plumbing. It's about 180sqm with the additions we did to the original plan, so about 1/2 of yours

I can't PM you or post pictures as I don't have enough posts yet. I put two pictures in my gallery but I need a few more posts before I can add them inline.

    Best of luck.

It's been 3 years. They were supposed to finish a year ago, but my wife couldn't move in until November or December. When I went over in late January, I found a bunch of unfinished work, mistakes and poor workmanship/sloppiness and they didn't clean up properly. Since then, we've had issues with cracking in the exterior walls, most likely due to them quickly painting them, instead of letting the smooth coat dry properly. My wife's family is also not impressed by the quality of the smooth coat either, I don't see it as well, but they've spotted some bad areas.
We still owe them 10% and that's not getting paid until they fix things. They did come and work on the exterior walls. But if I have to pay someone else to fix them, it's going to be deducted from that 10%.

Post a few more times, here or there, and you should then be able to post pictures.

    Good luck !
