    Water tank repair

This one for our plastics man LOYTOY methinks.

Have a couple of 2000litre blue plastic water tanks been sitting around for a year or so now...both have large holes where my soldering iron and miscellaneous other attempts to repair little holes have failed miserably.

Have tried every available glue also....musta spent a fortune!

So what IS the solvent or glue for these frickin tanks ? I can use a bit of one of the covers as a patch methinks.

I know there are repair shops around but I am too proud to give up..it is just a frickin water tank FFS..it WILL NOT beat me!..although they have been sitting there as an eye sore and a reminder of my inadequacy for over a year....

holes are result of fractured bottom spigot area ,one spigot broken away completely other heading same way..hence on corners and recessed part of tanks around spigot...not nice and flat so cannot just patch with ease.
Thought perhaps there would be a solvent based polymer goop to use like epoxy filler.
The spigots have been seated in plastic translucent something or other same as tank material maybe..probably welded somehow.
Silicon and other sealants do not adhere to tank or spigot . pressure on spigot area with full tank quite high... that is the issue.
Have new tank of course....probably end up dumping them.....

Well if sealants don't stick? Plus a plastic welding gizmo will probably cost more than a new tank!

Have you tried epoxy resin? I found that to adhere to plastic water containers. But that was only on small areas.
Anyway here's a product that should do the trick if all else fails. On-line Product Catalog: 3M

Should of bought a stainless-steel one because they are easier to repair.

any old piece of thick plastic, on the inside, with lashings of silicone will do the job just fine. The weigh of the water will ensure the seal is tight.
