Besides which, he needs to learn to tuck his tail. It's all a bit suggestive.
That's not my tail, I just like party style condoms.

A few dogtracks in that bottom pic...
Yes, I'm the owner of that very rare breed of dog, the black socked shitpoo.
It look great Kurgen, it should be ready for when your family lob up in Thailand.:)
Yes, fingers crossed.
The builder guaranteed being finished on the 8th to the tune of 20k a day penalty clause. I've been doing a rain dance ever since :)
The top of the pool is very slippery when wet, does anyone have any ideas how to overcome this?
My 5 year old son has slipped over a few times already.
The stainless steel company have just been to measure up for the fence to keep the dogs and kids out, 15 days they reckon.
Not much can be done with top of the pool edge, you could put sand stone tile around on top of your pool.
I think thats is what Pete's got around his pool from the pic's he posted.
Or paint it with some non-slip paint. It'll need prepping first.
OK, non slip paint sounds good.
Is that just paint with some sand thrown in?
If it's any help, we put non slip wood effect ceramic tlles as edgeing around the pool top then sandstone to the edge, (check my pics) this works great.
Cheers

Non-slip tiles?Quote:

1) Mask off the area that you want the non-slip to be on
2) Lightly sand the gelcoat (shiny surface) of the fibreglass pool to provide a key for the paint to adhere to
3) Paint the masked off area
4) Sprinkle fairly fine and consistently-sized sand onto the wet paint - try to get this as even as possible, using the equivalent of a salt shaker (but with bigger holes) if you can find something suitable will help.
5) Wait for the paint to dry then paint on another coat on top
Done.
The only thing is I would really not recommend doing this on the side of your pool for a couple of reasons:
- Non-slip paint is a pain to keep looking clean. It's OK on boats where there is little mud/dust and there is plenty of water you can use for scrubbing the decks. With a pool you will be constantly cleaning it to make it look good, and the run off from the cleaning will end up in your pool water.
Some rather dirty looking non-slip decks below (OK, these are filthy, but you get the picture):

- After a while the paint will fade/crack/chip and need re-doing
- Once you've done it there's no going back. When the gelcoat has been sanded then you will always have to paint that area. Even if you strip the non-slip off because you get fed up with cleaning it then you will still have to paint it with normal gloss, which will eventually fade/crack/chip and need re-doing.
If it was me I'd do what UT Pete has suggested. If that was not an option then I would probably compromise and try to get some non-slip safety tape which I think 3M amongst others do. At least that way you should be able to take it off and replace it when it gets old and looks tatty without having permanently damaged the pool's gelcoat.

Or you can superglue grit to your lad's feet. :)

I think I'll try the 3M first and then later get some sandstone tiles.
Cheers chaps.
You can buy some non slip tape from Boonthavorn especially designed for around pools and bathrooms.Quote:
