Not much happening today, just filling and back filling so far. The pump house should be up and running today I think.

Hey Rigger Kurgen pool is 12 metres long & the biggest JD pool is 9.6 Metres.:)
Also I have looked a web site & This bit is not true.
(1) is Ortho-NPG as this company uses Gelcoat out from FGI, the company manufacture the Gelcoat is from NZ Nuplex
ISO -NPG is the best glecoat to use with contact with water.:mid:

emailed Bellagio this morning and had a response from asher , apparently they do operate in Laos , thats good, gives me another option, and looking at the website it also seems they do a concrete free form pool, my lands not that big so i was thinking about knocking out a section of my verandah and getting a bit more size from the pool , starting to think a fibreglass pool mighnt be the way to go (For me) Ive been thinking about this for a while but having seen the level of workmanship on all things in Laos it really put me off , this mob sounds very professional , Looking forward to more of your thread Kurgen , good info
cheers
Must of had 9 meters in my head when I read it, I am keeping my options open and will get more quotes, as wont be putting a pool in for a few months yet
Will check out the udon Thani pool supplier as well.
Have had Thais offer to build concert pools for half the money we are talking here but will stay well clear of that :)
Good luck with what you decide on Rigger.
I would love to have a pool but my land is to small, I will have to wait till I can buy a bigger plot.
I bought a house in the city and paid a extra 2 million for a over sized block to house a bike shed and a swimming pool, add a 8 foot fence and I will have nice hide away from all the shit Like what I have to put up with at the current city house.
Kurgen what type of decking or surround will you put around the pool ? And I was think of doing a shade over the pool to stop the kids from being burnt and keep some rain out and save on chemicals. Saying that how does the sun effect salt water pools ?.
I'm going to have it sand washed around the pool. I've got to work out where to finish it as in February I'm going to have a small guest room and a spare toilet built on the far side of the pool.
With a bit of luck the builders will start this next week.
The water is up to the skimmers!
I had a pool put in in Australia two years ago... very similar setup to yours... roman style, 60k litres, salt water chlorinator, plus I added a separate spa that cascades into the pool... total cost was AU$40k... 1.2m... getting closer to double of what it cost you in Thailand. I won't even mention what the landscaping in the back yard cost.
I look forward to further pics showing how it all develops.
Come on Kurgen it has been 3 hours & no report.
Are you swimming in your pool yet.:)
No, not yet.
The pool is full, pump house is nearly finished and the steel is in place ready for concreting tomorrow.
I spose I'd better take some pics.
I'll upload them tomorrow cos I'm off soon to the Pattaya International fire works display. Well, I'm going to sit in the Hilton getting trollied whilst a load of wallies watch some bangers going off :)
Go up and have a look from the pool, loverly it will be.Quote:

^Make sure you get the wheeled sun bed like in Dil's photo so you can get a Thai to wheelbarrow you to the other side of the pool as the sun goes overhead without getting up!
Right, like I said, not much happened yesterday but here's some pics anyway.
Here's the water delivery man doing what he does best. In the end he delivered 9 loads of 600 liters at 450 baht a pop.

Here's the pool full.
You can see the steel and the start of the shuttering ready for the concrete which will be done today.

and the pump house, doors not fitted yet.

Just waiting for the concrete to be delivered.
Pump box would be better than pump house.:) Amazing for just 4 days work on it.
I am jealous! But currently can't justify the price of a pool or its upkeep to the wife. Maybe in a year or two.
Well Asher and his team have gone.
4 days and a couple of hours clearing up, I'm amazed.
Oh well, I'm going to jump back in the pool, I'll load some pics later.
you really do need to up the ante in this thread Kurgen and get some bikini clad babes on show.
what are you gonna do with the surrounding area of the pool ?
Right, time to do a couple of more pics now that I'm nicely sunburned from an afternoon in the pool.
These pics are taken after Asher's team left yesterday morning. I told them to leave ex-lawn as it was as the builders are starting on doing the sand wash patio areas today.

There will be a 200 mm step left after the builders have done their thing, hopefully.

Mini me dwarfed in the puddle.

Nowt much happened yesterday. The builders have started shuttering and back filling. As long as they finish this today they should be ready to concrete the patio and path areas tomorrow.
Nice job there Kurgen, but I was hoping for a long, drawn out thread! :)
