    Bangkok condo aircon costs

    Hi gents

I wonder if you would be so kind as to help me with a little scientific study I've been doing of aircon costs for Bangkok condos for this year, 2013. I cobble together a theoretical model that is supposed to predict aircon electricity costs (government price at about 4.5 baht per unit), baht per month for Bangkok condo dwellers of various types. Assume a 2 bedroom condo without heavy sun exposure.

RED users go by USA standards, they like it cool and steady.
GREEN users are middle of the road folks, they like it maybe up to 27 degrees, then turn on the aircon.
BLUE users are misers like me, use it only when it it's more than 29.5, when even a nice fan is not enough.

My question: does this match your experience at all? Could you also comment whether your condo gets a lot of sun?

    Thanks much,

    No fukin idea. Too technical.

On a hot month a single aircon might run at 1,500 baht per month; the old aircons are crazy (I've seen bills of 10,000 per month on a shitty old aircon unit). Obviously it depends on size and useage, but for a small apartment, maybe with 2 aircons, you can expect an average bill to be about 2,000 baht per month?

too many variables. Does the person own the condo thus paying the true cost of the service. Is it a rental unit with a surcharge added on. Are the air con units new or old. What size is the condo?

I assume electric cost at government rate about 4.5 baht per unit, say 100 sm condo (2 BR), 5 year old units in fair condition. I know it is very rough, but the purpose of the study is just to look at the likely variation of monthly costs with different usage styles.
