    Swimming pool ideas

In the new year I'm hoping to have a swimming pool built at my house.

Rather than go for the bog standard 8 X 4 hole in the ground I am thinking of spending a bit more and making a feature of it.

I have seen some pic's of pools with waterfalls which look quite good.

Does any one have some good ideas for me?
I would post pictures but life's too short.

Of course a standard rectangular pool is so much easier to maintain with fewer water circulation outlets keeping the pumps smaller and saving on electricity consumption.

I have seen some beautiful pools of irregular shapes that have certain areas that just traps leaves and other debris because the water flow doesn't push the shit towards the outflow drains.

A pool should be for swimming and a long narrow rectangular pool is perfect for doing laps in the morning.

I would forget about the waterfall and spend the money by adding a Jacuzzi and nice pool tiles. A good reliable pump and filter system is also a priority.

A decent size pool will cost you around 3,000 Baht a month to run so build yourself one you and your familywill use and not one that looks pretty and you only sit in.

Build it above ground saving on the excavation and put decking around it. If things don't work out, and it becomes a liability, remove it no problem.

For health and safety reasons its a good idea to have a dipstick to gauge the depth.

I am sure members know where to locate

I'm not a doctor but I think you might need to see one if your penis is that shape and has 4 outlets at the end with a fifth one over to the left.

Here a bit of cut & paste

Salt water pools are meant to be better on the hair & skin, don't leave you with red eyes, can save you money over time + more advantages. Info and links of where to buy chlorine generators & salt water pool systems.

    Salt Water Pools
Salt-Water-Pools.com When it comes to sanitizing your pool, water home owners now have a more convenient and regulated method available to them. In the past the only way to add chlorine to a pool was to either use a tablet and let it dissolve though a feeder or to manually pour liquid chlorine into the water. These methods are still the most popular but Salt Water Chlorinating systems continue to grow in popularity. Yes salt water pools still use chlorine. The difference is that they make the chlorine themselves. (Taken from h2opoolproducts.com)

    Salt water swimming pools
They do this via a chlorine generator, this unit generates pure chlorine by passing the pool water (a saltwater solution) between titanium plates that are electrically charged. When the saltwater passes through this electrical field, a chemical reaction produces pure chlorine and some hydrogen gas. This treated (chlorinated) water enters the pool and within minutes kills any biological or bacterial growth. The remaining chlorine decomposes and breaks down with exposure to sunlight, and the dead biological material is removed from the pool by the pump and filter system. (Taken from reviews.ebay.com)

Apart from the obvious advantage of not having to keep buying and adding chlorine to your pool, many people also prefer swimming in salt water pools to traditional swimming pools. Swimming in a mild saline solution is much like taking a shower in soft water, the skin dries more slowly and there is no white chlorine related residue left on the skin. In a salt water pool the water feels smooth, your skin feels smooth and many people feel more refreshed. (Taken from about.com)

consider a deep side and shallow side---as opposed to the more common deep end and shallow end.

Looking at his phone number 089-277he has not been in Thailand very long.
Steve's an interesting guy. He actually owns a deep sea fishing boat that works out of the US north Pacific coast. He's actually in Phuket with his team at the moment doing a major refurbishment of a resort pool in Kata.

I stayed at a resort last year and their pool had a sand wash ramp instead of steps which I thought was a good idea.
