Of course a standard rectangular pool is so much easier to maintain with fewer water circulation outlets keeping the pumps smaller and saving on electricity consumption.

I have seen some beautiful pools of irregular shapes that have certain areas that just traps leaves and other debris because the water flow doesn't push the shit towards the outflow drains.

A pool should be for swimming and a long narrow rectangular pool is perfect for doing laps in the morning.

I would forget about the waterfall and spend the money by adding a Jacuzzi and nice pool tiles. A good reliable pump and filter system is also a priority.

A decent size pool will cost you around 3,000 Baht a month to run so build yourself one you and your familywill use and not one that looks pretty and you only sit in.

Good advice from LT BTW , I wonder how many people end up looking at a green pond a year on ?

Build it above ground saving on the excavation and put decking around it. If things don't work out, and it becomes a liability, remove it no problem.

Salt water swimming pools

Steve's an interesting guy. He actually owns a deep sea fishing boat that works out of the US north Pacific coast. He's actually in Phuket with his team at the moment doing a major refurbishment of a resort pool in Kata.

I stayed at a resort last year and their pool had a sand wash ramp instead of steps which I thought was a good idea.

So Pebble pools are not a pool biulder they are only surf treatment only.
