    water bore well drilling equipment

Just starting the process of investigating the possibilities of a start-up venture in Thailand. Looking for suppliers and some idea on prices of water bore well drilling equipment in Thailand. Looking for truck mounted machinery.

The business idea is in the spirit of the old Chinese proverb, 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.'

    Any pointers would be welcomed.

It also reminds me of the old Thai adage 'encroach on a Thai's business and expect your kneecaps to be broken'

Although I'm sure this profession is not on the list of prohibited work for foreigners, I'm thinking that water bore drilling is akin to ice-making in Thailand ==> big trouble if you try to steal into this market sector

Anyway, how good are your water-divining skills? , cos that's what you'll need for starters

No joke, all the guys in our area (Isaan) have home made rigs from a Quai Lek motor and axle from a Toyota truck on a platform attached to the family ride. They spend more time fixing the damn thing than drilling.

I also see a bunch of used rigs on the outskirts of BKK, but my guess they want the same as new (in price).

Currently have drilling equipment. Can create bores up to 2 meters in diameter & drill 50 meters deep.

Thats got to be an impressive rig, hate to get near the edge of one after you pull the bit out. I take it this for piles; been working in the UAE lately?

I have been a water well drilling contractor in Thailand for the last 40 years. It's not an easy way to make a living and you will need to find a niche market to survive. Your biggest competition will come from government agencies.

Money crunch hit Dubai after all that big spending they have pulled off in the last 8 years. If those boys don't regulate costs for tourism NO ONE will go there for vacation and the duty free port aint all that hot like they claim it is.
