    driveway dramas

I havent done a lot of construction in Laos , we bought our house rather than build, but weve done a lot of renovation both inside and out, Lately i had to retile a section of my driveway because a large section cracked under the weight of a new car

These terracotta tiles werent available in vientiane so i carted them back from udon thani in about 4 loads

The blokes i got to do the work are vietnamese and have done a few jobs for me in the past,

But like the Lao,s and thais they cant seem to do anything without making a fuckin mess

Just of to the side of the drive there was a space on which used to stand my monkeys cage,

The boy monkey died and i gave the girl monkey to the Lao zoo because it was looking a bit depressed after the boy monkey died, anyway this turned out to be a good little area for parking the wifes scooter and anybody elses scooter who comes around to stop em continuously running over the popup sprinklers dozey cnuts

They had to rip up a fair bit of the old concrete before they got started

There was also a section of my drive in the soi that i thought might as well get fixed while we were fuckin about

Heres the materials, 450 000 kip for a small truck of sand and about the same for the river rock

I couldnt park the car in my drive for about a week while it cured but the neighbours were away so we parked there instead

weve left a bit of room for the tree to grow and a nice little flower feature will soon be getting installed

I reckon it came up quite well, not sure why the kids are trying to shoot the dog though

This time when they quoted me on the job i got them to include getting rid of the crap when they finish, usually they leave it to you,

All that remains to be done now is get that barbecue out of the box and fire it up

Next job is a courtyard roof replacement, the guys doing that say they can start in a couple of weeks, good stuff im wanting to get it done before the wet

    Nice, LBD!
Looks as if your work crew employ the eyeing it/close guess method of leveling.

    Could be worse.
    Lovely, anyway.

    Best to ya!

Good stuff mate..Very topical for me as I am in the throes of removing all trees plants and other shit from along the side of our place so I can get the area paved similarly to your area. Am actively looking for styles of pavers but cant find much yet. I am only about 25 km west of Bangkok

Yes, A quality barbie is necessary in the tropics one finds, That one is the real deal from aussie, a mate of mine was entitled to bring in a sea container with all his furniture and shit , so i got him to chuck in a barbie for me, He wanted a refrigereated sea container full of pies and chico rolls but the company wouldnt play the game on that one, said he was fat enough, pity

whilst it may be good quality and work well, cooking on that would be the same as on any hob

I know I am English and know nothing about BBQs but I know what tastes good

and you can't beat cooking over wood embers (choice of wood up to you), or second, charcoal
    I have reported your post

Don't be too hard on " The Doc " mate. You got to cut him some slack as he is a nasty Pom and is still pissed off he never got a start on the boats that bought all those other Pommy criminals too our lovely country.

The Doc's never got over that.

Drive way problems! Thought I was going to read about those U.K Gypsies who pull up in a stolen Ford Transit van loaded with tarmac, offering to do your drive. Pikies then do a shit job and then demand even more money after stuffing up the drive.

^Why would that be Dill? Dog had a hold of his nad's? WTF are you doing BLD with two monkeys? Personally I would prefer two Wombats and Terry 57 for entertainment.

you can buy wood chips and throw em on, quite nice, and the flavor is most certainly different form a hob

but yes, coals or wood embers are definitely better.

thing is i grill chicken stak or seafood at least once a week, even if it is to throw a hot dog on for the kid, the grill gets alot of play.
