Say I could buy crappy swamp at 400,000 per rai but sell good land at 900,000 per rai there would be a good profit (1.4 million) to be made maybe? Just my thoughts without knowing anything about the location or cost of land in the area.

That's devilishly cunning thinking ootai !

And there is such swampy stuff near me .

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .

Phuket prices. I think the price of land fill in Thailand is amazingly cheap actually.

Our local area was extensively scarred by govt contractors building/improving an arterial road, suitably raised to avoid flooding. Dunno what the locals thought of that at the time, or how they were compensated (if at all), but it has made for some interesting topography in our otherwise flat as a pancake local area- permanent fish ponds, and low lying paddies with permanent water from these ponds, thus capable of producing two crops a year. Quite desirable by local standards, although it did take a few years for enough organic matter to accumulate for the land to be much good for agriculture.

We've just filled some of our land this week in Chaiyaphum with fairly decent looking topsoil.

The price was Baht 160k to fill and level 1 rai by 1 metre deep (not sure on the number of truckloads that was). Other bits of fill were charged at Baht 450 per 6 wheel truck and Baht 900 per 10 wheel truck. Seems to be the going rate in these parts.

Oh to get it at the prices that Bobo does...
