    Layout for House Help??????

    Hello,

I am a first time poster but long time reader. I will be posting my house build on this site and look forward to all the help. With that said im in need of help now.

I have had my house plans ready and they start building the cement and roof this monday. my Wife just emailed me and said we can put the kitchen were it is now as the Big monk Buddha who I really like and have been to many times and really feel helps our family said that we can not put the kitchen were it is as the sun rises in the East were are kitchen is.

our house is going to be built on a 4x4 plan and the holes are already dug for the house. So the layout of the 4x4 poles cant change.

attached is a layout of the original plan in which I love and im very excited...was very excited about and some new ideas for the layout which my wife sent me.

im asking for all your help in some ideas for the layout of the house as Im not to fond of the layouts she sent. 1 is ok but the other I dont like at all..

the square in the kitchen is a island counter that we really want by the way.

thank you so very much for all your help or ideas.

Just flip it about the North/South axis. That will put the kitchen on the west wall.

Why not build the layout you like. You should be able to find another dude to tell you that the kitchen needs to be facing the east. When we were building we had all kinds of advice from a particular farmer about how we needed to appease the spirits. If we had listened to him we would never have gotten finished.

The house, we are building in Nakhom Pathom, has the kitchen in the southeast corner. Not sure why it's an issue

You probably can't post pictures until you get the magic number of 5 (or is it 7??) posts. I forget the minimum required.

    What a load of nonsense.
You need to man up and build the house as you want it.
Monks have to eat their food before noon each day so that's the only time of day they are in the kitchen.
Who is the house for, you or the monk ?

just change the name of the kitchen to "rumpus room" on the plans, then everyone will be happy

I'm told where the bed points is pretty important. Not that I give a fok anyway.

I have design my house myself to be in feng shui harmony..

and my kitchen is in east side !

English is not my first language, but i gooooogle and quick find something...i am sure you will be more able to find better explanation about this

How to Feng Shui your Kitchen for Financial Prosperity and Domestic Harmony

the only big thing to pay attention is not to put the door of toilette or bathrom in the kitchen , like we see many here like this...

and the sink for dishees ect not on the same side that the cooker...

My wife is as religious as they come and the kitchen in my house faces east. I watch the sun cup up as I get my first cup of morning coffee.

Lets see. Wise, sensible comments from several posters pointing out how it is bunkum, versus a Thai woman who has been told something by a random monk.

Hmm. Sorry, but that kitchen is going to be shifted. In the end.

DrDDD, good luck with the build mate posted something similar about 7 months back. It was nice to get a few replies but but almost every thing said I knew already.I was expecting a lot more information i.e good builders numbers, best materials to use etc. We are still selecting a builder out of the many sourced of mine own back. We all like a laugh sure but some of the banter you get on here is just plain stupid.P.S I love and trust my wife but no way would she be superviceing my house build why I was out of the country, but that just me all the best.

IMO, you've already screwed up asking a Monk questions about building a house. A guy across the street from me couldn't decide what color to paint his house after totally painting it 4 times, inside and outside. That's an pretty good indication how smart this guy is. So he ask a Monk what color he should paint it. Now, it is puke green with a blue roof.
