    Builder in Khon Kaen?

We have the land and the plans BUT can not find a decent builder in Khon Kaen, we are building a small 100sqm house and have been quoted 1.5 million.... I am not paying 15,000 baht per sqm.

So does anyone have a number of a decent affordable builder in Khon Kaen?

If so could you kindly send me an email.

    Cheers

If you want any kind of decent construction stardards and finish thats about the going rate now. The problem is finding a "good" builder because they are all busy building, so you might have to wait a while. You can always build cheap.....but it tends to get expensive later on anyway, when you have to fix everything.
    I blame the Americans......and Thaksin.

You didn't really suggest Alan to the OP, did you?

I'd stay clear of this gentlemen.
Best to find a local contractor.....doesn't need to be Farang.

Does any1 have bad experience with him? I actually wanted to send him an application since I'm in need of work, got a degree in construction engineering.

I know of AtB ,he has a small Building Company and has a few teams of Thai Builders. His wife takes care of the local builds and he's runs the not so local ones ( or both depending on work-load ).His team of builders do make a nice job of the house's his company builds but he only builds for Westerners ( not Thais ) .Most people that use him either don't live here in Thailand full time and need a guy they can trust to take care of things whilst they're are not here or they are people who don't speak Thai ( and who's wives have no idea of any building terms ) and want to speak to their builder in English and be understood fully.
As some have said, his not the cheapest but so far I haven't seen a badly constructed house his company has built.I know a few people that have had a quote from him and then a quote from a local Thai builder. The Thai builders have been between 300-800k cheaper ( depending on the size of the build ) but only after viewing both builders work could you be able make your own mind up to which builder to use. You pay your money and take your choice.
Having said all that ....I don't think his company would take on a Western Construction engineer.....but only by emailing him could that question be answered!

    I hope is helps

I'm using a company named slyoung, based outside khonkaen. So far so good.

Englisnman, and seems to have a good crew. They have nearly finished my 3 bedroom home, with a pool..So nearly time to move into it.

Don't think they would do it for the kind of cost that the original post was after, but i'm happy with what i have paid, and the return i got.
