I still have to buy 13 teak threads or the logs to cut into threads. All doors will be carved teak at around 5,200 B per door (I still have to buy) and half of the windows will be teak (and the rest sliding windows). The walls on both floors will be teak panaling and the ceiling between the two floors will be exposed teak. The outside will have panaling on the second floor. Honestly, if I had known in advance how much the teak would cost, I would have scaled back considerably. At least, the teak will have a light stain and a dull finish. I'll be back there for that part of the construction.
And we shall expect you to start a thread complete with pictures.

Of course. I've got pictures taken everyday and every 2-3 weeks, some of the pictures are e-mailed to me. Now, all I have to do is to get someone to show me how to transfer pictures to a thread. Also, I have to recover from my broken right arm, which I received while in Bosong 2 weeks ago, when my motorscooter decided to go left with the gravel and dirt and my body went straight ahead, sliding many feet on my right side. At least I was wearing a helmut, which stayed on on impact but came off before the sliding stopped. I think that I'll invest in a good helmut before resuming my motorcycle adventures in LOS (but stay away from motorscooters).

I am after something small (1 bedroom) with a roof style like all the bus stops you see here (Ayutyha style apparently) I like the look and the overhang allows you to have an all round balcony. I was going to build but these may be an easier option.

Can they be built to order? Where?

I am getting more and more tempted to build a Teak house on my land, OK the security grills will make it look a bit ugly, but I think living in a wooden house will also help me give up smoking due to the fire hazards, initially I could build a small 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom and a small living room place with doors already put in for future extensions, as the money comes I can then start extending, obviously I think the bathrooms and kitchens will have to be made out of concrete but the can have wooden cladding on the outside to blend in, anyway these are being built in Pattaya on Soi Theprasit.

This place is actually going to be a holiday resort and this next picture is probably going to be the restaurant.

The tiles on the big one in the third picture make a big difference to the overall look of the house.

    they are all nice
    3 questions:

-is it wood termites won't eat?
(alternatively treated lumber ok, but besides the chemicals being rather toxic one and every now and again the treatment has to be repeated = more $$$ output)

-how do they sell this type of dwelling?
by square meter, cubic meter or by design

-what's could be a guesstimate average "all out" co$t per *put unit of measurement here*

Termites don't like eating teak, but they will if it is from a young tree so yes it does need constant upkeep with nasty poisonous chemicals, in an earlier post somebody mentioned 11,000baht per square meter for overal building costs, I got to admit that I would scrimp and save on this one, ie using red wood or something similar for flooring etc and steel for the roof supports, also concrete fake wooden trees from the ground supports

    11,000 sq.m !!! thats a tad expensive for what's delivered

guess I could squeeze a bit more square mets out of 11k
building something just as nice and maybe longer lasting out of concrete

puchasing, supervising , my own crew

can design just as well and build for future extentions too

    nah forget wooden houses
DD stop smoking the traditional way
