If you have a car there are several very big brickworks on the Asia highway about 30 min north of ayuthayya.
    Lots of different bricks made.

Here's what we used. They are 6 X 10 X 21 cm in size and have two 3 cm holes through them. We laid them flat so that the two spaces inside help keep the heat out. Sure made rugged walls laid flat and they are usually set on their side to save money. There are a lot of brick choices and they vary greatly in quality and size so you have to do a bit of searching.

Spicy got it right. We are up in Mae Taeng and did luck out on good views. We are only a kilometer off the main highway and we see constant building across the fields so we figure it is only a matter of time until a housing project starts up. For now though we are enjoying it as we finish off the house.

Could have been done in a Sauna for all I know. For all the trouble they take to dry them out, the crew hosed them down as soon as they were delivered. I guess wet bricks help the concrete mortar and rendering set better.
