Once again Uncle Sanee's tractor comes to the rescue. Notice the wood staves holding the pipes in line while covering them.

Paint, trim and emergency lighting installed (power outages do happen out here) and they are in critical areas to light the stairwell and high traffic areas.

Windows, paint, trim and the vaulted ceilings make the room look bigger.

The window uniits are very heavy so the contractor needed a scaffold. My boys insist on bamboo but the contractor was squared away. They are double pane with solar glass

All of the upstairs floors are hardwood and I wanted them to look old and weathered like they been there 50 years.

    The Thai Kitchen

Deliveries start coming in for the Thai Kitchen, in our family we all come together and eat so we are always cooking. It is not unusual to have up to 12 people over eating at any given time. So we have to have room.

I love the picket fence on top of the wall it's a great way to raise the height of the fence whilst looking attractive and still allowing some wind and light through.

My wife keeps going on about raising our exterior wall from 2.5 to 3.3. I don't really think it's necessary, if someone is really that keen to get over and introduce themselves to our two German Shepherds then an extra 80cm isn't going to stop them.

I had been thinking about using a wire mesh fence, which allows for air and light, but your house starts to look like a prison compound. This solution looks like a great compromise.
