Wife wants a 500k house? What will that buy?

My Thai wife wants a 500k baht home built up in Isaan. What will that buy? I assume it would be *quite* modest but I don't intend on living there often anyways. It will mainly just be a second home for her. I'll live in Pattaya mostly.

She already owns the land, so the money would just be for materials and labor I guess.

What house will that kind of money buy? Anybody know??

heres a rough idea 500K now is not much in isaan depending obivously were in isaan, one of our neighbours a thai, is renovetating his home

    its a house on stilts

hes supposed to of paid 300,000

    80,000 for labour

has used a lot of his old wood

    bought 9 concrete pillars
a couple of main support beams 3metres

    around 300 blocks

    raised his land,roughly 1/3 rai

    new tin roof

    plus a few other things

    very basic

the most important thing is the location of the land, does it have water elecricity etc

Yes, you can get a reclaimed timber place for that, but not a crappy concrete 'Euro' style place.

Depends on the finish. A good country Thai finish should be about 5k baht per sm
Closer to 10k for a basic Euro style fitout.

Acyually you can build a pretty nice Thai style house. Simple, but nice. No frills just 2 bedroom, bath, and an outdoor kitchen.
