    Processor can damage motherboard?

Hi everyone, I have this weird situation. I bout new motherboard, memory and videocard. Then I tried my old processor which is not use for a month. Everything is find after two weeks my motherboard was dead. Then I replace it because it is under warranty, but after again 2 weeks it was dead. I'll assumed that it is a processor since it was not use but why is it that I can still used the processor only damaged the motherboard. Right now I'm having trouble to replace it. Can it be replaceable since it is under warranty? Let me know your thoughts thanks.

    Sorry.

    New motherboard - p5g41t-mlx3
    New Memory - 2G ddr3 1333
    Old processor - E5200

This is the 3rd time I'll replace my motherboard. Can a processor damaged motherboard or the PSU? I bought my PSU last March and I think it is okay but I'll try your suggestion to replace my PSU. Thanks anyway

Without wishing to state the obvious, did you first check that the new motherboard is *exactly* compatible with the old processor. Because if it isn't you are destined to repeat your error.

So from that we can deduce that it's supported and you need BIOS v0301.

What do you mean need a BIOS v0301. Do I need to change the bios? today I'm going to replace my motherboard and PSU. I don't want to repeat errors, because really I don't know what I'm going tell to the store where I bought the motherboard.

Do I need a specific PSU? I don't know what PSU I'm using. Does PSU differ, do I have to tell to the salesclerk that I'm using p5g41t-mlx3 motherboard.

Are you using a suitable transformer between your computer plug and the local electricity supply?

No you don't need a specific PSU but if yours is fooked it will keep eating components, usually the motherboard first.

From this I deduce that you should not be doing this yourself, but getting the shop to do it for you.

I bought a cheap Chinese PSU for me Dell. Soon after, everything started to break and the computer died of multiple injuries. I learnt a valuable lesson...

I think this is correct, can anyone confirm?

Intel E5200 comes with pre-applied thermal paste.
As it is being fitted to a new motherboard the old paste will have to be removed with alcohol and fresh paste applied

    Why?

    But if you insist:

In order to clean a cooler/cpu of previous thermal compound you need to use a high level of isopropyl alcohol fluid. I use 91%, the higher the better. Be sure to dampen a lint free cloth with the alcohol, I use quality coffee filters, and clean off both surfaces. Make sure that (they) are 100% clean. The amount of thermal compound you want to apply varies on the CPU, you probably only need a tiny dab in the center about the size of half of an uncooked grain of rice. I use artic silver 5, I have tried several other brands and I feel over all this one is the best. The higher the silver content the better. Why silver? Do some research on thermal conductivity. I am worried you might mess this up concerning (considering) you are asking this question. If you aren't certain about doing this, I would seek in person (someone's) help.
